Crew cab and other stuff.
North Houston.
Read it closely because I "think" the price includes everything.
Somebody is going to get a really good deal here.

I would love the crew cab. Especially a rust free one needing no body work. I wonder if the guy would sell the crew cab separate.

Yeah, that crew cab would save me a lot of body work on my rusty crew.

FYI, I just got a message from another member who said this guy "might" not be all on the up and up so be careful if you do any business with him.
I'm hoping the member that sent me the heads up will post the information he sent me here.
Its a jungle out there.

Maybe someone in the Houston area could check him out?

I know this is dumb to bring up, but the picture with the crew cab on the trailer, whats up with the rear trailer tire? Is it an optical illusion or is the fender on the rubber.. just thought that was weird.

A story to tell...

The seller's name is BJ. A month ago I had already made a deal to buy the crew cab and doors from him and had arranged shipping through Uship to California. He gave me a PO box to mail my cashiers check too. I sent him a cashiers check (via snail mail since he gave me a PO Box to mail the check to). I also had my son send him a tailgate for his 64 (via Greyhound, also slow), as a final part of the deal.

As some of you know, I work in Canada, and told him I would be sending him the cashiers check from there. Unfortunately, BJ became upset when the check did not arrive as quickly as he wanted and told me the deal was off unless I agreed to pay an additional $600. I told him I was not willing to pay more money and to tear up or return my cashier's check to me. I had to cancel the Uship contract, pay the cancellation charge for that, and had my son contact Greyhound to return the tailgate to me. The gate was in transit still and I got the gate back but had to pay the $100 shipping cost (and wait over three weeks to get it).

The guy seemed like a real straight guy at first and I believe the crew cab is a very good buy. He mentioned he was getting pressure from his wife and was also paying storage fees so there was probably more to his side of the story than I know.

I think if someone was close and showed up with a trailer and cash they would be getting a real good deal and dealing with him would be fine that way. He was just impatient with the time it took for me to get him everything.

If I lived in Texas I would beat feet over and buy the whole package (if he would still talk to me)

Probably stating the obvious but..........The crew cab is a 66 and will not be a direct bolt on to the 64 chassis. Cab mounts, frame length, etc. Still a good deal though in my opinion.

He has a fresh add on CL today I sent an e-mail yesterday and he was basically a smart ass remarking he would sell the cab only, for $3,500 I said thanks but no thanks.

Maybe he will be at Conroe this weekend????

I agree if someone had a wad of money and a trailer they could get a good deal. Skip that would be a nice frame for Nadine.

Well, it all depends on how bad you want a crew cab and your financial resources. If it's in as good a shape as he says it could be worth near that to me (if I had the funding). Of course, if you're paying $3,500 for the crew you might has well take the entire package :-)
Would be curious to know if it's a factory crew or a "coach-built"? From the side shot it looks the same as my 63 Armbruster Stageways crew cab.
I have a feeling that Kenny will be checking it out this weekend. He needs another project.

If he did I didn't see it. Sure looks like it though. Of particular interest to me is how they continued the raised door embellishments down the side and around the back of the cab.

G'n'G:Sorry...No, I didn't mean in Rich's previous post in this thread, I meant either in a conversation we had ( he is (sometimes) local to me), or in a recent email

Did both the Stageway and the factory built crew cabs have the drip rail all the way around the back? Or is that a tell tail sign that its a Stageway?
