Does anyone use R11 refrigerant for anything anymore?

I have some R11 that was on my place when I bought it. Does anyone know what it is good for?

R12 is worth its weight in gold almost R11 not sure will check around tomorrow .

We used to use R11 to flush/blow thru R12 systems after a compressor burnt up and contaminated the lines and rest of the system.

In other words it was used as a solvent to clean the contamination out of the lines and the rest of the system.

It was cheaper than R12 at the time.

You know now that you mention it I do have several cans of R11 flush in the truck DOH wasnt thinking of the flush kits :D.




Well Bob theres your answer :D we use it to flush systems :D. I usually use it when flushing an older R22 Lineset I am not changeing when I switch the system over to 410A and dont change the lineset for whatever reason .

I was wondering because I have a 100 lb drum of it next to my shed, and another can in the shed. I think it is a 30# tank. It looks like an r134a 30# tank but is orange.
