Hello everybody. I'm new here. Been doing a rotisserie style restoration of my 1966 F250 4x4 for the last 8 years and finally getting down to the nitty gritty. I'm using a mix of my favorite parts on this truck. Particularly a '65 grille and '64 Custom Cab instrument cluster. What I need is a source for an exact restoration of the instrument cluster bezel and related bottom plate with the "Custom Cab" script. Has anyone had this done to original spec?

Thanks, Sam

I like your choice of parts!
"Astronaut" on this site is probably your best source of restoration info. He knows of someone who provides the instrument decals. The bezel can be re-chromed or repainted in the original manner. It would not be hard to recreate the lower panel finish, but I know of no source for the Custom Cab logo, although I would suspect Astronaut's source would consider making a decal if enough interest was shown.

Jason at Greenback Decal has started making decals to restore the gauge faces. We used a set on a '66 CC we're restoring and they're top notch. He'll be selling them through LMC truck so they're not on his website. Check with him directly since LMC hasn't listed them yet. Jason's decal sets comes with decals to restore any F-series gauge cluster, not just the CC clusters.

Pics of his decals on the cluster we restored. We bought the bezel and lens from Dennis Carpenter.

Before, faded out.

Applying the decals. Heat is needed to stretch the vinyl over the hump, I used a hair dryer.

Finished up, repainted needle and reset odometer.

Damn....that's some top notch work. I've got the bronco style cluster. It's in mint condition, but the bezel needs to be re-chromed and painted. The Custom Cab script is the hard part to get done. It's not a decal. I think it's some sort of stencil.

Many vinyl graphics shops stock a vinyl "Spray Mask". It's the opposite of a decal, adhesive stencil, if you will. If you can get them to digitize the logo, then cut the stencil, you're in the game. Get extras and I'll buy 2 from you!
