Slick 60's

Well I just finished off my trip from Reno to Coachella (SoCal) for a awesome find of a short bed for my project it really only has surface rust in the bed floor and a couple dings that will be easily fixed...this is gonna save me so much time on my 65! Big Thanks to ChicoF100 for getting me in touch with Manny who had this bed...I also picked up a set of doors, fenders and a upper grill valance from him...he has another bed and set of doors if anyone needs anything

That is just awesome. I was hoping you guys could make something work out. I sure wish back when I did my 64 I would have gone this route instead of the year I spent making a bad longbox into a nice shortbox ! hahahahaha

It is worth it sometimes to do that. I drove 1300 miles round trip to get a short uni for my project. Looks like you did well on that one.

Yeah I'm pretty stoked! We did the drive non-stop so I just took a power nap and now I need to go power wash the old desert dust off the parts and see how sweet they really are without the dust all over em!

No not for me, I've been buying and selling Ford parts for about ten years. As you can see I joined here 4 years ago. And because of a couple of members here I pretty much stay away from posting. I come here and read a lot as I do on 4 other forums.
I was contacted by a member to join "Slick 60's" because I had parts that he thought members would be interested in.
My first post came off like I was here to only sell my parts, and a couple of members decided to attack without knowing the facts. Anyway that was a long time ago, or so I thought.
Anytime I would post here, if I misspelled a word, the put down would come, subtle but still a put down.
I've been contacted by many members who need parts, not just from this forum but others as well.
I learned to not ask or care which forum they belong. Business is Business.
I've built a badass 64 "Slick" so I'm not anywhere, just to peddle parts, I'm everywhere to learn.
If I can help out with parts great, but I'm not here for that.
I do hang out elsewhere but I read all forums. Information is valuable no matter where it comes from.
There's good people on all forums, I don't play the "This Forum is better than that forum" crap.
If I see a nice classic american car/truck I'm all over it.
Anyway, you asked, so that's me, the short version.

Well don't be afraid to post, heaven knows most of us have met people we don't see eye to eye with.. As for the spelling heaven knows I have to edit mine constantly, I could blame it on this abused keyboard though

I did tease someone about a truck from 1847 in the last couple days though !!!! hahahah Sometimes typos are better than intentional fun. I hope I am NEVER taken TOO seriously !

I often wonder whether my old English teachers would be more shocked by my punctuation, or the fact that I actually am writing something in the first place !

Every site has some "experts" but this site is far, far friendlier than any other I have ever been a member of.

Not afraid to post anywhere or anything. I laugh at these individuals because of their maturity level or lack there of.
Laughing at 1847 or something like that is harmless, it's when these certain individuals do it, they do it to high five each other.
I'd rather not hang around because it's directed at me, by them. And who needs that.
Trust me, I don't lose out nor do I care. There's good and bad and I won't tolerate it anywhere.

No Sorry, won't do that. Most people know how to get a hold of me. I won't advertise hear.
This thing with the bed was unexpected. I just know where they are and I couldn't stand to see someone who was willing to pay for it plus come and get it, miss out.
You see, most (Not all) members of forums want it for free or for pennies because we belong to a "forum family."
There's another member here who knows this all to well. We get parts or have parts that others want, but when it comes time to close the deal, we get stuck with the part for reasons I stated.
I'm content doing what I do. If I see someone in a bind I'll help out or lead them in the right direction.

We didn't meet just the guy, Manny, that had the parts. Bill W has hooked me up with some good parts as well. Never actually met anyone from the site though...but I know there are a couple on here that live in Reno or close to, but never met up before.

Does anyone know where I can buy a spare tire mount, like the one in right rear of this bed.

Paul check on some 67/72 trucks as well I have seen them on those trucks on either side

If you haven't seen his truck, it is worth the time to check it out. Very nice truck and well built.

Hey Paul I haven't decided if I'm gonna use that spare mount...most likely not. If I decide I'm not gonna use it you can have it...just pay the shipping.
