Ignition Switch Issue

New switch, cylinder, bezel and other associated items. The switch seems to be in a bind such that it will not rotate back from "start". Everything is lined up and it will turn freely when not installed.

Any thoughts on what I need to do?

Have you tried any lubricant, might need a few clicks to get everything in order....just a thought.

Reset the lock by pushing a pin in the hole and rotating counter clock wise,to same position you removed the old lock just past the acc position.
Make sure you match both lugs, and switch nub position on lock, to switch. it will then slide all the way in and turn freely to off position.
Never wet lube, switch or lock, graphite works best and will never gum up.

I have run into the same issue, seems if I push on the back of the switch so the lock cylinder is slightly forward in the bezel it turns free. Going to try a different ignition switch, didn't have this issue with the old switch.

So, if you completely assemble the switch, cylinder, with backing cup, spring and bezel, it moves freely until you try and install it on the dash?
I know it is a pain to reassemble in place but if all the nibs on the cup are put in place and the locking cylinder is properly installed it should turn the same whether in place or not.
Anyone else have this issue??

I've had this problem with an aftermarket replacement switch in the past.

Switch and all other parts came from LMC. Works perfectly when fully assembled outside of dash. Install in dash and its like it binds up.
