"Lucille" is my Trucks name. She came with it so it will stay with her. I love driving her yesterday around the area. This was the first time in 7 months. It needs an alignment but she's drives great.

The first one was "the 66" and she was with me for 25 years until cancer got the best of me and now she is the donor for "D.D." That is short for Daily Driver. D.D. came to live with us 4 months ago and is in the process of an interior change, power steering and disc brake upgrade and then the final paint job.

I call mine Betty. Simply because I like Betty Boop. I put a Betty Boop decal on the tailgate. The women like it at the shows I go to. Gets conversations going too.

My 62 has a real original (not) nickname "The Uni". I just haven't come up with anything I like, lol. Just being able to call it mine isn't so bad though.

my 77 is "Big Ed". It is a 77 1/2 SuperCab 4X4. 155 inch wheel base and has a factory shell on it (pretty rare option). Due to the size and the fact that I have 35 inch BFG's on it, it is just massive. Hawkrod

Most have female names for their trucks.
I call m 62 Uni Ol' Jack named after my grandfather Jack
who bought the truck new in 1962. He died in the seventies and the
truck was handed down to me. I've had it since I was 18.

I call mine "My Girl". My parents sold the truck to my grandparents in the early 80's becaue they needed the room. My Grandpa gave it to me when I was 15 (1990)In the glove compartment I found a letter he wrote to me telling me to take care if her because she was a fine truck. My Grandpa passed way in 1993. I still have that letter in the glove compartment.

I guess I don't really have names for mine. The '64 (daily driver) I've been known to coax her by calling her "Bessie", and I've never called the '61 Uni anything. But maybe after I've got the '61 finished I'll give her a name.

OK, Jeff, time for a little father-son like chat.

One problem that you will face with your Slick is: Namin' her.

Here is how it works: You see this purty, purty sweet thang standing over there, and she turns yore head so fast you fergit about what yer doin'....
It's love at first sight!
So what's the first question you ask?
HER NAME.
Now, you don't really want her to know yer interested right all at first, right? Besides, you also know she doesn't always want to give it up right away, so you go ask your friend to ask HER friend what her name is.
Maybe she tells you right up and maybe she doesn't.
Yep. That's the way it works, all right.
(Don't be upset now, boy, that's the way them females are. 'Bout the time you figger 'em out, they done run a "Hail Mary" around you and got you all confuzled again, just like a coon playin' with a coon hound, so just learn to live with it.)

So then you finally git her name, and you spend a little time with her. Next thing you know, you git to know a little bit about her, and you go a-courtin'. If yer not keerful like, before you know it, yer gonna git yerself all sweaty and fearful like (she's only a danged female, boy!) 'cause yer gonna pop THE question.
And miracle of miracles, she says yes!

But it ain't over, in fact its just the beginnin'! Yer goin' to find out that she's got a LOT of secrets you gotta learn about, and the hardest one to learn is that you ain't never gonna learn 'em all. Learning the few secrets you can understand will be like tryin' to pour molasses uphill in the middle of winter!
Like I said, boy, once you figger one out, there's a whole lot more of 'em deep down inside her. (Kinda like going fer catfish. You can catch some on the line, but you gotta noodle the big ones.)

Trucks is the same way, son. Only different. Understand?
The only way yer gonna learn anything about her a-tall is to git right on down and spend time with her. Learn what she likes and dislikes, and you’ll soon get it a going on with her.
Now, go on, spend more time with her, take care of her and learn some more!

Oh, and my Slick is named Sweet Southern Comfort, after my Sweet Southern homeland!
