downshift linkage

i have a 292 y block in my 64 with the dual range cruise o matic the problem is that the trans shifts through the gears quickly and i have no downshift bracket or linkage so its impossible to pass at all. is there anywhere i can get the linkage or do i have to fabricate one, if so how would i go about doing that i have no clue what one looks like. thanks for all the help

Lokar makes a cable downshift kit.I put one on my c-6 390.

take a piece of copper tubing and bend it to fit in there. and then mash each end flat and drill a hole in each end for the studs to go through. a pattern would be nice but if you dont have one just make sure it doesnt hit the firewall when you make it.

As to the shifting early, you need to adjust the modulator valve (on the end of tranny, small vac pot). Pull the vac hose off the end and use a small screw driver. Replace the valve if you have to turn more than 3 turns either way.
