:thumright: :woohoo:  It sure is good to see Mike's truck "Miss Daisy" finally gracing the June issue of Custom Classic Trucks. Mine arrived a few days ago and as I looked at the cover and saw a small picture of Mike's truck up at the top, I knew the photo shoot was in it. After seeing "Miss Daisy" last year in Texas at the Goodguys Show at Texas Motor Speedway, I was very impressed with the handywork on her, and as Chris and I looked her over, Mike walked up and introductions took place. As Z-Man said, our club was mentioned and a link to our site was posted in the article. Uncle Skip got some credit for helping Mike on Daisy's restoration, along with some other Texas boys.
Having John Gilbert in our fold is a definite help along for us, and I for one hope he has made plans to join us in KC this summer. Now that Mike Browne and Lonnie Craddock have had trucks in CCT, What's next?
Great article, Mike. Glad to see it came true. TR

all most got teardrops on the pages at the mail box when I saw it, sorry I didn't see your post on the subject before I plugged myself in another seperate post.

And spoke to a few other members that I won't mention names but they told me that they would be getting their membership to the magazine back up to date because John has been doing so much for the cause!

Got my copy from the mail box today. Congrats, its a good looking well done truck. A lot of hard work was done to it but its well worth it when it turns out like Mikes truck. All the fellows that worked on the project should be proud of it and the work they did. CCT did a good layout as well.

Mike, your're a lucky man to have a Mother-in-law like the one you have. I'm glad you were abel to get the truck, but i dont understand the part about the farmers son had to sell the truck because his wife said so. I don't think that would go over to good at my house. Must be Hell.

Lonnie,
I had full intention of walking the first copy down to the man to show him his farthers truck, but the thought of flying frying pan coming at my head from his wife has slowed the step.
I gave John the info, he printed it has was provided, but see now before she reads it I will have to use my charm on the women now!
Yes I've got the best mother in law in the world, I guess working for the Pentigon for 40 years has given her a lttile bit of "Share the wealth" attitude especially after 9/11 while she was still there.
I'd never take advantage of the women and when and if Daisy goes to another owner she get's her share!
Looking at a 72 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 tonight and I'm sure if I need a little extra money she'll be forking it over again.

Mike you will probably get a call from this company
http://headlinesintime.com/ they produce a quality product, i really like mine. It takes about 8 weeks from the time you place your order and the time its on your door step. I got three pages., the mag cover and the two pages of my truck for about $250. If they get your name , state, and town then they call information then they call you. I even had a fellow from KC do the same thing, he had just bought a 66 and wanted to do the 4x4 conversion, we tallked a while, he had some guestions, and i invited him to join Slick60s but i dont know if he has or not. Once again congradulations and watch out for thoes frying pans.

already got a order in for one, didn't wait I called them!
went last night to about 6 or 7 places where I thought I could find the magazine, finally found CCT on the shelf in a Fry's Electronic's store of all places, huge magazine collection but they still had May on the rack so I just called CCT they gave me the number for a place that will send me all I want, for the coin of course

Hey Mike, what's the phone number they gave you? The company doesn't give me a fraction of the number of magazines they did as recent as six months ago to hand out to guys that have been in the magazine. I've had truck owners that I featured in CCT call me back, and say they were given a phone number that enabled them to buy quanities of CCT at a discount. I've asked about it here without much luck. Thanks, I'll pass it on to the next guys.

Hey John,
it's 866 542-2679 and only got a message machine about back orders? but left my reguest and number anyway.
the other find I was going to tell you about was
a 1972 Buick Skylark GS 455 stage 1 ..... or I thought? went to look at it last night and stored in a garage for 10 years! was 1972 buick skylark. period with 65K on it really nice condition under all the crap and there was a 455 stage one motor on a stand with all the parts in boxes to turn the car into a stage 1 but didn't think it was worth the hassle and the widow wasn't sure what she was going to ask

No, no, no, don't use that number! That's for back issues which are around TEN-BUCKS each. Norman with the blue and white '66 with the 427 in it, told me he was able to buy a case of 25 for a pretty good discount. I've been after that number ever since. Things are changing very fast in the magazine business. None of our editors that I know of are getting the supply we used to. On the bright side Mike, email me at john.gilbert@sourceinterlink.com with a mailing address, and I'll send at least 3 or 4 issues.

And thanks again,

I went to buy the mag last night and was sorely disappointed, as they still had last month's issue on the stand. It was chock full of the stuff that makes me leave a publication on the shelf
(no more beating THAT dead horse)Image so on the shelf is where it stayed.
Looking forward to the issue with Ratfink's truck in it, and hopefully a GIANT improvement.
Congrats on the publication of your truck!

I picked up my copy the other day at the store, the only thing I have had for is to look at the pics of Miss Daisy (I haven't read my new Mustang Monthly yet either). The truck looks even better in print than the web pics, Congrats!

Just got back from Mexico where I was deported!
no I'm not telling you why!
Hey Alan, Ruth is coming with me to Slick Stock, said she be happy to drive, and she's my reserve bank, and I'm going to need her more than ever now, haven't been back from my trip for 2 hours when the wife calls and tell's me my Step Son just totaled my SVT, boy's OK thank God, but damn why do airbags cost so much to replace that they just say it's toast?

That's a bummer about the SVT. I think the insurance companies own the air bag companies...that's why they cost so much.
