Slick 60's

Oh, My! I am restoring my dad's truck and have been reading some of your post. I think I am in way over my head.
My Dad died in 1979, my sister sold the truck a few yrs later. I found truck in 1992. I started having work done on truck 2 years ago. (Very costly) It is a slow process but I think it is almost finished. It is not going to be a show truck, I just want it back the way my Dad had it.
If anyone has any advice on where to buy parts please let me know.

My dad is still with me, but I too have been through the process. Hang in there.

Carolina Classics is very well spoken of. Dennis Carpenter has a good reputation as well. One of the other members of this site, Tom (6166 Junkyard Dog) also makes a business of finding old trucks that can be salvaged and also sells parts. I've delt with him with good sucess as well.

Some poeple have negative experiences with LMC (www.lmctruck.com) though I have not.

There are some sources for you. Its better than it was 5 years ago.

Let us know what you need help with and likely someone will have at least some information for you.

I noticed your in Tennessee,where at in TN? I might point you to some local places if you are close to me here in TN. What are you looking for? Some of the member might could help out with what you need. I think there is a section here for trading around. Before I got mine fixed I wanted the inside bed tire holder. I got one from Uncle Skip. Someone else contacted me but they needed a under bed holder which I had so I sent it to him. This place is a good resourse for had to find stuff.

thank- you so much for all the info. right now I am looking for some exterior pieces. I am needing the trim for the Drvr & Passngr side doors. I also need the cowl (sp??) trim for the passenger side and the small piece (is cut on an angle) that fits in between the cowl and emblem on the passenger side. I also need the drvr & passngr side mirrors.
I will try and put up some pics.

Welcome to the club, good luck with the truck. I personally like flashback f-100's, Tom's a good guy, one of us and the only guy who still goes west and brings back parts for those of us in the rustbelt. On the site he's 61-66 junkyard dog.

to the group. Dont worry about being in over your head, not a one of use was born with a wrench in our hands and we had to start some where. Its a great site for information, get to know a great bunch of guy's and have some fun.

Brooks, good luck with your restoration. I have restored my dad's 64 F100 CC, 292 V8, std w/OD, hence my "codename". He gave it to me when he was no longer able to drive it and had been set up for a couple of years. After cleaning it up, rebuilding the engine, transmission, front end, brakes, new tires & shocks, I took him riding in it. It really tickled him to ride in it. It took a long time to get around to the final body work and repainting, and he never saw it. Mother says it now looks better than she remembers it ever looking. No one is in the repro trim business for 64's (I know, I have one). 65 or 6 - lots to choose from if you want to pay $$. I will check my stock, but I've sold off most of my extra pieces. Put a post on the site of whatyou are looking for. Try evil bay and the likely sources.

Good to see more trucks from Tennessee here! I have a set of mirrors if you are looking for the 53-66 style.
