Would these seats fit into my 64 with a C6, with little modification?

If they are out of a new body--style 97 , they will be a real stuggle and definitely NOT a bolt in. If they are from a F350 or larger, (which was basically in '97 still the previous year's body style) they will work much more easily.

The fastest way to figure out which they are out of is to look at the tabs on the frame at the front of the seats. if they are bent 45 degrees or so, they are from the newer body style and will be a LOT more work.


I know this because i have '03 seats in my truck, and had to completely remove the bottom frame, build brackets, and they still sit higher than I want.

Well I’ve been on the lookout for a while now, and Finally found some late model bucket seats that have the should seat belt in them. Of course, they’re Chevy , but since my truck is my DD, 3 point seatbelts are ideal, and I didn’t want to have to mount the shoulder strap to the cab.

My question is :

Has anyone else violated their ford with late model Chevrolet seats? Or, has anyone seen this seat swap before?

I bought some late model (will have to check what years) GMC sets with the integrated belts and there were two problems. 1. The integrated seat belt "tower" hit the inside of the cab. Any incline of the seat and it hit. 2. They were too deep/long to allow me access to the pedals, especially the clutch. If you have an auto you may be able to adapt to this. I am 5'7" and I found it a tight fit.

The 90's era Dodge Rams had seats with the integrated 3 point belts. A guy with a '67 was posting his buildup on a web page, and he was using them. The Dodge seats were about 1" wider I think.

I had a chance to get a Dodge bench for free off Craigslist, but had to pass unfortunately.

My issue is every late model seat looks like a couch and takes up the whole cab. Im 6' and 220 lbs and i can barely fit with the thin OEM bench in my 62.
If I ever take the tank out it will be to get 1/2" more legroom

I used the stock GM power seat rails that came with the seats and did not measure while they were in.

Is there any room to gain there, perhaps?

Lowering the seats may actually force you to use the seat in an even more upright position. I'm not into the lean way back thing but a slight recline is good for me.

I already took the seats out. I didn't see a solution to the problem so I never mounted them adn I put my stock bouncy bench back in. Yes I will make someone a good deal if you want them.
