What are your '65 and '66 F100 4x4s worth?

Hey guys,

Doing a survey of people with either '65 or '66 4x4s... would like to know general condition, what you think it's worth, and what you think you could sell it for if you were so inclined.

Reason why? Because I'm trying to convince myself into spending a boatload on a nice '66...

Cheers,
Dion

Hey Dion. I see you are in southern Alberta,, you could get either Dean from the Hat or me to check it out with ya... just don't turn your back on either one of us, as we're addicted with Slickitis

To answer your question, it's worth more if it's a Merc, but not as much as Merc sellers usually think LOL. Remember, a 65 doesn't have a matching box. 66 F/M100 is definitely more desirable, the only year with the matching box.
I think you could pour $10,000 or more into a 4x4, and probably get it back out, but it depends what you do.. It would be worth more if it was a shortbox , too.

Saw a 66 in Pincher Creek a while ago, needed a lot of work. Was a Ford Longbox tho, and the body was rusty.

check out Lonnie's here

I think that could fetch upward of $20,000 in these parts if you found the right rich oil guy from Calgary who just couldn't live without it.

first off no offense to those who have put a 2wd body on a 4x4 as i do it all the time.
cant call it factory or original though.

to me the style of bed on the 4x4 has nothing to do with the value.

paid $1500 for the wifes 66 f100 several years ago.
been her daily driver ever since.
replaced the 352 with a 300 6 earlier this year.

getting the money back thru selling is not a problem if we wanted to.

Mine is a 66 F100 4x4. It was a factory 4x4, but after 30 years that I have ownned it and 2 teenage boys, the truck is on it's 3rd body. It will not die and I refuse to let it. It is NOT for sale or will it ever be for sale, goes to the youngest son when I die. I have spent a ton of money on it and will continue to do so.

Brian is that true? no 115" F100 4x4 in 66?
Can't see why they would not do both, since they basically used a variation of the 2wd frame in 66.
I have personally seen shorty 4x4's of the bumpsides, which essentially use the same frame.. why not Slicks?

if they don't exist, then the only slick 4x4 I have ever really wanted doesn't exist either.
