Mean, angry, scowling vehicles! *PICS*

One of these days, I'd love to own a vehicle that truly looks pissed off! :x

In the late 50's & early 60's, there were a few vehicles made that just look like they have a bad attitude...sort of a scowling, grimacing look to them. These cars prowled the streets when I was an impressionable youngster & to me, they always looked like they'd chew my arm off if I got too close.

In the truck lineup, the angriest looking thing to ever leave an assembly line was the 1957 GMC "big" trucks. These have stern eyebrows over the headlights & a snarl built into the grille...these things look like a rabid bulldog with a spiked collar & bloody fangs!
I love 'em!

Looks even meaner dressed in black...

There were a bunch of different angry looking cars made during the period, too. To me, the top five most peeved, 'kicked-in-the-shins & called-their-momma-fat' type of scowls were worn on these cars;

The '59 Pontaic Star Chief.

Image

The '59 Buick Electra.

Image

The '59 T-bird. (this one's pissed because it got such a dorky looking back end) :P

Image

And lastly, the face that looks like it was force-fed a bucket of worms that was washed down with battery acid (especially this one, because it's been booted out of a nice warm garage & never cared for since)...the 1959 Dodge Coronet!

Then there's Christine, everybody knows to steer clear of her...

What got me thinking about this subject is that I've noticed some of today's current cars seem to have bad attitudes. I'm sure this one's just angry because it was born as a 4-door. Can't say I blame it. :rotflmao:

I have always thought of the '59 Buick as the hands down ugliest car ever made in America.
Until GM brought out these trucks with the same look that is

Oh, I bet they do! Does it look like that Chebby van is sucking in his back bumper a little, so he doesn't get it bitten off?

There's a local guy who has been trying to sell this one for a couple years now. It looks really good in person. Probably a good thing I don't have his asking price laying around, or I'd have yet another vehicle at my house.
Although those rims would have to go rather quickly.

Looks great, doesn't it? :D

Anybody know which model this is? It looks like a version of an N-series, but the diesel part is throwing me off.

That is a "n" series a friend of mine has a single axle dump truck with a Cummins in it.

Thanks, Tom. :D Your friend's truck has that same opening in the hood where the "diesel" is? And more importantly, any pics??

Been awhile since I saw it so not sure I think it looks right. That truck is what i started doing the dirt hauling for my house. It sure is a tough old truck it hauled many loads of dirt. I think it is retired right not replaced with a Ford Louisville dump truck. I'll have to get pics of it to show you.

Here's a like to a good link to the N/H series trucks.

WOO-HOO!! :woohoo:
Man, thanks for that link! The pic & info collection that Michelle has in that link is great! That site is going to consume many hours of my time, now.

I have to add that the floor & cab mounts of a N-series is a little different than our small Slicks. :)
