I'm with these guys...302/351 Windsor.
What do we win?

It could be anything from a 255 to a 302 depending on what year it is. On those engines the top water pump bolt (just to the right of the alt.) is 3/8" from the block deck surface to center of the bolt. On a 351 the distance is 17/8". So its not a 35.

All I can offer is more questions.

Can I infer this as irony and this motor is itty bitty like a mouse?

I didn't know they were to be liked. I was a bit disappointed that they weren't blue with Ford scripted across.
Do they have any special benefit other than Holley lettering?

i would say 302. i dont thinkits a 351. the water neck looks too close to the water pump. and the intake looks narrow.

Jacobd, a "mouse" motor is a small block chebby engine and the distributor is in the back of the engine and is the subject of a running conversation between Johnny Canuck & Garbz which,by the way is at times very humorous. The Holley logo aluminum valve covers are a subject of personal taste. Some like the factory look of the stock covers, others, myself included, like the cast aluminum ones. One of the advantages of the aluminum is that they are more rigid-therefore leak less.

My guess is that it is a "289" Hi Po and it looks like it might be in a pickup, an early bump by the looks of the inner fenders

Jacob, DCarr explained it well.. If you are interersted in a set of OEM covers shoot me a PM, maybe we can make a deal. I have two sets. The one set has ford logos stamped on them, and the other set says "power by ford".

This is fun. I found some numbers stamped on the top; can you tell me what they mean?

Jacob, the C8 # refers to 1968 manufacture the other # is probably intake manifold. 289 could refer to the cubic inch displacement of the engine, but that intake will also fit on a 302 as they are from the same family.

If there's more C8 numbers on the heads & block, then it can only be either a 289 or 302.
If I recall correctly, '68 was the final year for the 289 & the first year for the 302. 351W's came along in '69.
*EDIT* After thinking about this for a little longer, I'm thinkin' it's a 302 for sure. The '68 289 intake most likely wouldn't have a new '68 casting number, it would be a new number for the
new 302.
