Facebook - not just for kids

My wife got me interested in Facebook, and I have to admit it's consumed a lot of my time lately. I don't know if anyone here is a member or not, but I could not find a 'Group' for 61-66 Fords so started one. Just search Slick 60s and it should come up. :) If you are a member, please join and swell the numbers. If you're not on Facebook, you may want to consider it. You can find old classmates and friends, and it's interesting how different people are linked together by interests. It's FREE, but you do have to join to look at anything. The one nice aspect of it is only people you invite can look at your page, photos, etc.

Caution: it is very addictive and can consume large amounts of your garage time! see-saw.gif

Facebook just recently changed their policy to millions of members who are now mad as hell.
They decided all pictures and text on facebook are their property forever.

I have never felt the need to be on there, those who know me know where to find me.

i spend plenty of time here, which as far as i am concerned is enough on the computer.
while i enjoy slick 60s thats about it for me.
folks can call me on the phone, stop by my house or members in here can send me a PM.
i dont even use e-mail much.

I've been considering it.. A good freind of mine, who I graduated with, is on there quite a bit. She keeps telling me i need to check it out, but beware it's addicting. She has been in touch with classmates that neither of us have seen since graduation night. I should jump on there.

I don't know what's so addicting about it. Not such a big fan of Facebook, but I'm on there with a few friends, one picture and that's about it.

I'm on MySpace more. And 99% of the people on my friends list, I know in person. Its just an easier way to keep up with how they've been. I'm busy with work and school and the times I have to communicate are usually after hours and I can drop a message to say hello and they can answer at their convenience. I hate talking on the phone and avoid it at all costs. I'd much rather send a message, or check out their pics online. *shrug*

You should never post anything on any internet site you aren't prepared to share. I guess the FB people didn't grasp that nothing in life is free or without strings. Doesn't bother me; people can steal stuff from my own web page far easier than they can from FB.

I'm the opposite on MySpace; I think it's pretty awful. Not much content, distracting backgrounds on most of them...I just never got the appeal. To each his own. I'm not saying anyone has to join any of these sites, just if you are a member we now have a link there.

I thought they immediately reversed that decision because of the complaints... but I'm not on it so not sure.

I really prefer myspace over face book. Theres a lot more features, its easier to work, and there is a place to create and join groups. BTW does anyone here have a myspace account that I can add to my friends?

I stay away from both of 'em.
I'm a member on enough forums as it is & consequently, a good portion of my time is spent keeping up with those. I don't want another one to keep up on.

But thanks for the offer, anyway. :)

I joined FB to find old ARMY buddies and within 10 minutes I found 4. We were all really good friends and will be meeting this summer for a reuninion. Im super excited. You dont need to have 200 friends just maybe find some people that meant alot to you and you would like to see. Also if you dont like it then you can just quit it...pretty simple but why not try.

Crackbook is what it is. I do not belong anymore or have no intention on going back. Unfortunately, I have seen it used for ill intentions and several marriages have ended as a result of it. I suppose the marriages ended as a result of improper actions, however they were broadcast on Facebook. I have seen grown men act like junior high kids over stupid issues and then seen it displayed on Facebook.

This forum is more than enough for my internet time. If people feel the need to look me up or where to find me, they know where I am.

+ a billion

My sister was telling me how all her old friends are on there and she's catching up on things. That's all I need all my stoner buddies and ex girlfriends tracking me down

I'm a Facebook member, but seldom go there. I don't really want the world know what I'm doing (not that I'm doing anything wrong :-) ). I'm content with this site and a couple of Y-block and truck sites. And Twitter I don't understand it at all. I've signed up twice and never figured out where to go next.
Now my wife is a different story, she's a Facebook and Twitter freak. She uses it extensively in her business (she's a public relations consultant). In fact, she just picked up a large account as a result of activity on both of those sites(?), vehicles?

It's growing by leaps and bounds but will NEVER EVER take the place of this home!

This is the garage. FB is like the living room. You can still chat and BS, but they're just different.

Aren't you on my friend list on Facebook? You were 5 minutes ago.
