Re: 61 Unibody
Been working slowing but getting some work done. Metal work is time consuming and a learning curve for sure. Never have done any welding or taken any classes just learning on the fly. Picked up a Miller 180 and got to work. Lets just say its been annoying, rewarding, and exciting. http://i216.photob...

Floor pans
My next project will be replacing the floors and cab mounts (thanks to carolina classics). Any suggestions on what to expect? Also I've never done anything like this before. I came into my care a millermatic 180 mig and looking to get some hours on it. I kinda wanted to get an idea of what people's ...

Re: flipped rear
Sully that is a killer stance. Pretty much where I wanna go with. Did you make the notch yourself? Greg is no limit the only place to get the springs? There is a shop called inline suspension here in Lincoln that I was gonna check with to see if I could get them to look at it. Thanks for your help!!

flipped rear
I'm exploring options for my rearend. I planned on doing a triagulated with coil over and a notch, but prices are killing me. I still have to replace the floor and steps on my 61 uni. Was wondering is anyone had any pics of a flipped rear so I can see the stance. Also need new leaf springs if thats ...

4 link or triangulated
Im at a crossroads.....Trying to decide what to do about the rear suspension. What are some of your opinions on going with a 90s explorer rearend with a four link and coil overs OR staying with the 8.8 drum setup I have now and using the stock ears on the pumpkin to do a triangulated setup with coil...

Re: Are there any car guys working in parts stores anymore??
NAPA is good. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!!! I was out 140 for a water pump after 3 months. The same guy was behind the counter that sold it to me, remembered me, but still said he couldn't do anything for me. Turned me off of NAPA for the time being.

What are some of your suggestions for cleaning up rockers and pushrods? Should i use mineral spirits, gas or just brake cleaner? Did a Google search and got a lot of different answers. Thanks!

cab panels
I think my next project will be the steps, floor panels, and cab mounts/bushings. I know this has been asked before, but who should I buy these parts from? Quality is my main concern. I want to only have to do this once. I think I'm gonna ask santa for a new miller 140 autoset welder (want to only b...

Re: Explorer rearend
Thats pretty much exactly what I want to accomplish. Was there a prob with the offset pinion yoke. From what I've read some have no problem with the angles and some shorter the driver side and center it up. Was the Heidts coil over a satifying buy? Sure do think it's purdy.

Entertaining the idea of putting an 8.8 under the Ford. 95 or up with 3.75 gears, 31 spline, and disk brakes. Local yard has them pulled on the shelf for $175. I wanna four link it with coil overs. Anyone else done something similar. Any suggestions? Willing to mildly notch the frame but nothing to ...

The filler is in the driver side corner of the bed. I assume the tank is out of grand marquis. I'm gonna have to figure something different out. I keenly remember going over an overpass and having her sputter and almost die barely made it to the top and rolled down the other side. Believe me there a...
