Wow that is a neat helmet, and a kid that wants to weld is alright as well. Pays good, you can fix things, be artistic... Welding offers a lot of options down the road..

Re: P71 Crown Vic values?
Yeah, that is a bummer if its now the new Mustang 2 front end.... I suppose it was bound to happen... I really don't watch any of the shows that drive vehicle, slash collectibles up.. But it sure sounds like it is happening at a faster rate. I keep wondering how many people in a decade or two will e...

Re: Crown Vic Frame Swap Debate
I already have the uni , buried in my Moms garage out of town .... But the one thing to keep in mind is I used a 86 LTD/ crown vic. So my chassis is a bit different than the newer ones. Mine doesn't use the bolt on front composite beam, and I think the front end is wider ... I had to cut like 2-3 fe...

Looks like a great start for the hobby.. If you do the dual master cylinder, new brake lines, and whell slave cylinders you will NEVER regret it..and be so much safer... Its not even an expensive improvement either. There is a lot of truck there and will probably drive / last forever once you get it...

First I started laughing thinking of those fake Harbor freight adds !!! Then I was looking at that tool trying to figure it out as I have never seen one before.. Then it dawns on me.. it must work just like one of those party favors that if you blow thru them hard enough they straighten out and shak...

One of the true curses of sand blasting, a pressurized can works great if the humidity is right, and you strain the used media well . A siphon type blaster is much easier to keep open/unclogged and going but it works slower.... There have been days my pressurized blaster ALMOST met my sledge hammer....

Re: my shipwrecked '63
I would say with your time frame it will be quicker to leave it together.. Now if you are strong enough, or have some helpers you might be able to sit it on its sides and front to work on it easier.. lay some padding to keep from hurting it more than helping.. Some rotisserie setup would be best..bu...

Is it possible where you are in the build to block the thing up and sit the doghouse back to the cab, then jus move the suspension back and forth.... to eyeball it? I know you probably want to have someones exact number to go from.. When I put my 62 UNI on the 86 Crown Vic chassis, I agonized for a ...

If possible I am a fan of patching with WAY thicker metal than stock.. Eliminate the ability for it to rust thru again in your life time ! However I do understand the desire for correct looking repairs where the stock carpet fits easily as well. Darrel and I did some floor patches that required two ...
