The paint didn't happen like I had hoped. The painter got sick Friday afternoon so we didn't get to even get started. :(
Another day I guess.

I picked up the bed and tailgate from the painter on Wednesday. They turned out great.

I plan to get the bed put on the truck today or tomorrow. The GoodGUys show is in Scottsdale this weekend, so I need to go to that on Saturday.

I did get the bed put on the truck this afternoon.
Image

The engine hoist worked out great to put it back on with the help of a couple of people.
Image

Here is a shot looking down the side.
Image

Now the extra work putting the radius in the side of the bed shows well.
Image

Now it's on to all the little finish up items that will take forever to get done.

This truck just looks superb... I wish I had these kinds of skills and all those helpers wouldn't hurt either as long as I didn't have to feed em.. :D

I finished hooking up the third brake light in the tailgate and installed the tailgate today. The third brake light blends in with the paint so it isn't really noticeable.

but it stands out well when the light comes on.

Tomorrow the rear bumper should go on and hopefully the taillights.

Watsons Streetworks has the box and diffuser. The diffuser is sold seperate from the box. It comes in a 4"x12" piece so you can shape it anyway that you want. It is approx. 1/2" thick.
Anybody is welcome to use this idea. It is just something that I thought would look good and be different.

dotcentral, the color on my truck is Ford Firered Metallic clearcoat from a late model Mustang or Explorer.

Here is what I got done today. The taillights and bumper are on and final.
Image

The taillight/ fuel filler is finished.
Image
Image
The fuel cap doesn't have to come off to fill with fuel. It has a spring loaded center that the nozzle pushes into.
I think that I need to clean up the paint on the black moving parts.

Kevin, this is so cool! It looks really great! I'm anxious for you to roll it outside and snap some pics of the whole truck.

Are you planning to put rubber gasket or something around the tail light trim to keep it from rubbing the paint?

I like the way the smooth cover you put on the tailgate allows the lines off the bed to continue on around!!
Never did care for Fords design of the tailgate.
Nice!!!!

The stop light is a plus!
I thought I was wrong once...
Turned out I was right!!
