y-block fuel filter wrench availability

Hi, all....I have a typical y-block engine-driven fuel pump with the fuel filter tucked in an aluminum canister which is threaded to the fuel pump. There are three indentations, equally spaced on the bottom of the canister on the outer periphery of the cannister which seems to suggest that there is a spanner wrench available for unthreading the canister.

Yes, I have checked ebay and done an online search, but I'm not coming up with anything and these canisters are very easy to put holes in .... the one I'm dealing with has like 25 miles on it, but 9 years of time holding it in and I don't think it's necessary to destroy it to get it off. I'm in no rush to remove it, but off it must come at one point in time or another.

Get yourself an oil filter wrench that uses a rubber strap. Use it around the threaded portion of the fuel filter cannister.
Here is an example of one on evilbay, but most part stores carry something similar:

i have a small oil filter wrench i use for the fuel canisters, its all steel but works good.

Thats what I always do just use a small oil filter wrench with a piece of rubber over the canister to prevent it from slipping. Usually one of my wifes old kitchen rubber gloves fits over it just fine. Filters can be had at most places but I know NAPA and Carquest do have them in stock most of the time.

Just happened to find the old filter number, NAPA Gold # 3271 and miine came with a new rubber gasket also.
