Been a little under the weather the last couple of days and working hard to get Elwood ready for Eagle Field but we did manage to get the header for the other side done and a scatter shield made. Still waiting on tubing for the cage but I'm told it's on the way. :rolleyes:

For those who want to know the primaries (1 3/4") came out 25 - 29" and I will be running 18" extentions on the 3" collectors.

Tim,
I'm sure you know the old trick of the cheap paint on the collectors to find the correct length!

Finally got the tubing on Friday! We were waiting for 1 5/8" .134" wall mild steel for the last three weeks, found out that is was quite literally on slow boat from China. By last Tues. we had had enough and looked around at different suppliers, The short story is we found another place that sold us .095" wall chromoly for $.25 more a foot than the other stuff and it's made in the USA. ;) Wish we would have went to this place first. :? Oh well we have got a cage started now and with a little work there should be something to show the tech guys at El Mirage in two weeks.

LOL;
that's the only reason mine has no cage - quick 6 pack access.

Not a problem, I will install and icechest infront of the fire bottles. :wink:

Seriously, it's not too hard to get in and out of. Although I haven't tried it with the suit on.

Big day yesterday, we loaded up and headed off for El Mirage to see what the tech guys had to say about our project. :D
Image

Four and a half hours later and we are at one of the best places in the world.
Image

Image

We pulled into the tech lines but they put us off to the side since we weren't looking to run this weekend and just wanted to have the truck looked over. While waiting we got a bit of attention and a little advice from helpful people. :rolleyes: Finally after about an hour wait we got our turn and to make a long story short we got a big thumbs up. ;) There was a couple of things that need to be added but that is to be expected. They did think our gussets were very nice. :D
