Another inner fender radiator support question 66

The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Another inner fender radiator support question 66

Post by BikerDude »

I have a 66 F100 2wd and have a line on inner fenders and rad support. The seller says they are from a 65 F250 2wd the pics look very similar, minus rust holes, to mine. Angular inner fenders not round, and the rad support are from the same truck. I believe that the 65 and 66 are the same except for 4x4? WIll these fit my 66 2wd?

Maybe someone can add a sheetmetal exchange list to this site like the Fordification site has!!

Your expertise is much appreciated.

All 1961s thru 1964s are same. But only 1965 & 1966 are same for 2Wd's.
With the exception of Integral Bed (Uni's) of course. . . . :thumright:

With 4X4s 61-66 are same with possible exception of the taller 4 Gear Transmission Tunnel in the floor on 65 & 66 models. fyi.gif

So 61-64 2Wds & all 4X4s from 61-66 will not simply bolt up to the 65 & 66 2Wd. Only a 65 or 66 will fit a 65 or 66 2Wd. secret.gif

Uh....nope.....

Core supports are the same for the following.....
61 to 64 F100 250 2 wheel drive
61 to 65 F100 four wheel drives
61 to 66 F250 Four Wheel drives
61 to 66 F350

All of the above use the same support

1965 F100 F250 2 wheel drive uses a stand alone support
1966 F100 Four wheel drive uses the 65 2 wheel drive support
1966 F100 F250 2 wheel drive uses a stand alone support.

Only difference in 65 vs 66 is the radiator mounting and battery support. they are easily modified to work....

With a llittle pre planning one of the new reproduction 61 to 64 core supports will work as they are dimensionally the same. New holes need to be drilled for the square inner aprons and the battery box.

David you beat me to the answer except need to included the F-500/600 trucks on 61-66 and F-750 have to take the extra bracket along the bottom that needs to be removed BUT Remember that there is 2 F-750's One is the plain 750 and the other is a F-750 Super Duty in which are 2 different body style trucks which the Super Duty has that taller roof, same doors though

Typically Tom I dont include the bigger trucks (F450 and up) It tends to confuse everyone more. But the big trucks are a source of dash pads and padded visors too as typically they had these in them... also the N series and T series tractors have goodies also. Lots interchange but they pass up the big rigs.

The 350s and up also have that really cool front roll pan.......

Is there a pic somewhere showing the front roll pan... Interested in doing something like that and would love some pics to get the ideas flowing...
