American Restoration on History Channel

Post by Max »

Rick bought his son a bagged '65 F100 short bed for his H.S. graduation present. It's rat rodded but no telling what he'll do with it.

Seller mentioned Slick 60's which I thought was cool as hell!

Dude, I totally missed that part... I watched it to the point where they went and looked at it. I just couldn't stay awake much longer... and look, here I am on the internet, haha. I get bored with TV and I was ready to get up.

Maybe I can watch the episode later on Hulu or something. That is cool they mentioned Slick 60s, wonder who it was that sold it...

The new episode followed (after my initial post) and they moved all of their stuff to a new shop location. Tyler already had the Slick in pieces as it was trailered to the new place. Hoping they show progress with it and would be even cooler if either of them joined here.

I spoke with him a couple of years ago about some Coke machine parts he helped me find. Wonder if he does remember that?

Just saw this on rerun. They ran shows backward, first show moved to new place, second they bought the truck.

Thanks for the link Gregg - easier to catch online. Gotta love the kids joy when the old man gave him the truck. Not a big fan of bagged trucks but can see why they have appeal. Should be interesting to see how his truck turns out.

Just an FYI but Rick's Restorations is on my FaceBook page and they responded to someone else's inquiry about the Slick and said you'll definitely see it on the show (i'm sure as it is being restored or at least featured before/after).

Found this bit about Rick Dale that includes a little info on Tyler's '65 - LINK

Dale bought a 1965 Ford truck for Tyler for graduation. "I tricked him and told him I wouldn't buy it, and I did buy it and brought it home. He was happy," he says. "It's a short-bed, pretty truck."

The two have been restoring together since Tyler was young and would sit at his dad's side. "He's gone to a level where he's totally into fabrication," Dale says. "It's not a frame-off restoration where you would fix everything underneath there. He now pulled a chassis out of the bottom of the '65 Ford half ton truck and threw it away, and built everything from scratch."

Dale says Tyler, who went to an engineering high school, originally wanted to make it like a rat rod. "Everybody's got nice cars, so he's going to paint this one," he says, adding viewers will see him work on the truck, which should be revealed at the end of the season.

Welcome to Slick 60s Tyler.
Looking forward to seeing your progress.
You can do a thread in the Projects & Builds too if you like.
I have seen the show off & on (not much of a TV person) and do like it.
I'll have to check out the episodes with your truck on line one of these days.
