what do you think?

While I agree with your mindset, you are mistaken on many points you are making. First, the emblems are not patented, they are trademarks and the trademark only applies to items that say Ranger that pertain to motor vehicles. Second, trademark law requires the trademark holder to enforce the law, it is not an option for them to let people do it just because they no longer make the parts. You may want to research that one as it is the Democrats at work again not Ford causing the issue. Also note that Corvette is not a made up word that was trademarked. HawkrodFordChild wrote:You know, I love FoMoCo as much as anyone here, but since when do PATENTS last a *%!!@#$ LIFETIME??? FORD chooses NOT to make them, (unprofitable because of the small numbers) yet by law is able to prevent anyone else from doing it (selling them, that is - can't stop anyone from making them..) Besides, "Ranger" was a word LONG before Ford assigned it to a trim-level option on a truck series. (unlike, say "Corvette", which is a made-up trademarked word) You'd think they'd have more important things to do - like design and build better new vehicles. Twits.
