30+ mph wind reminded me that I needed a few more screws in the metal roof. Spent the morning getting that done...not fun in 30+ mph wind. I have pulled wire from the house electrical panel through the basement and out to the garage. Wiring up the sub-panel after lunch. Picking up some more trim pieces tomorrow...

Moving along...at least the sun is shining!

LED lights are BRIGHT! Waiting for it to get dark outside so I can see how well they light up the garage. $16 each for 4 foot lights at Walmart. I bought 4 to start with...if I like them I will add at least 2 more.

I can work in the garage at night! Now to finish wiring the outlets and build some garage doors....

Stay tuned....

Obtaining lumber and building garage doors tomorrow. Also, I want to start on work area at the back of the garage. Still needing to do some welding on the truck and I need to start sanding some problem areas. Thinking of giving it a repaint this Spring.

First door almost finished. I used windows that we had replaced from our house. They are 65 year old windows....but still useable.
Image

The door is 8 feet wide and was heavy...I used 3 heavy duty hinges to hang it.
Image

Finished the other door and managed to get it hung, but I still need to trim it out. My 82 year old dad came over to help...

I will finish trimming the door tomorrow and run some romex in the garage...snow and ice is coming tomorrow night into Wednesday...bring it I have a garage now!

Asbeforementioned....trimmed out the second door. I am planning on installing shutters on the front gable window. I finished wiring the garage and put together a 'work area' from leftover waterbed drawer base. It will be used for storage.

Looking good, Steve. Nothing like getting a roof over you and walls around you.

Dang phenomenal work. I’m done with the floors in the house except painting the trim. That too has been a JOB!!!

I’m taking two weeks of leave in mid March to work on my trim and electrical outlets in the house and goal to get Shipwrecked moving under its own power for first time in 4 years.

Ice and snow...but I still was able to install two windows. From the inside...lol...They will need to be trimmed out.

I'm wanting to get my welder in there and work on the exhaust on my truck. Also I need to adjust the valves on the left side bank of the engine.

The temps are cold but rising and the SUN is shining! Working to get the last 3 windows installed and trimmed and try to finish the eaves and fascia on both sides...
This side needs fascia...
Image

My wife thought that we might stain the doors to match the metal roof and trim the windows in white...started staining.
Image

South side of the garage...most of the eaves and fascia are finished (just need a small piece at the front edge)...this is the side that will get 3 windows...

Had an hour yesterday...I didn't like the dark stain on the garage doors. I still need to paint the trim around the edge of the doors and I have some metal "carriage door" hardware to put on them.

Thanks April! I'm wanting to get this done so I can move on to the 1000 other things that need to be done... lol... Spring is about to happen. I want to get some things done to my truck before cruise-in season.

...and it's RAINING...again. I'm not usually a complainer...but I am tired of rain. Come August and I'll be wanting rain.

Going to the big MDA Car Show tomorrow in Salem, Virginia...looking forward to that.

Scraped and cleaned all the windows today...29 degrees out...so the windex started freezing on the windows, lol.
Finished hardware on the doors...
Image

Then...I went inside and worked on my truck! I got one side of the exhaust finished...then the cold got to me.
