The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Went to a car show last weekend.

There was only two Slicks there...and I only got two pics of one of 'em before my half-dead batteries died.

It's sorta hard to see, but those are stainless inner fenders the guy had made about 10 years ago, for $400. I want some!! :D

This truck looked great, but you could tell the owner just wrote checks for it. He didn't know anything beyond what he'd memorized from it's build.

This truck was COOL! It had a tandem axle, 530(?) gas engine & two transmissions. I loved it.
I took a rear shot, but it seems to have disappeared on me...grrr. :?

This was next to it.

No price on the fer sale sign...

Somebody with more money than God had this BLASTOLENE there...this thing's just too cool. 8)

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

hurrah.gif Slick, that little 57 is Suuweeeeet! I wish my 57 looked half that good. And I know what you mean by the owner being clueless. Dude just gets in it and drives it around. Probably spends all his spare time waxing it and cleaning it all day just to go out for a soda in it once a month. Pity the poor slob if he ever has any problems with it out and about, he won't even know what to do. "Hello Triple A, I need some help. The whatchamacallit on my thingamabob broke on my truck
and I don't have anyway to fix it. Where am I? I don't know, the shop hasn't installed my GPS unit yet, cuz I wanted to go drive it this weekend to a car show in BFE! :bangin: :stick: TR

I'd be happy with any of those trucks, but what the heck was that BLASTOLENE??? I've never heard of that.

They are custom/show cars built by two guys that call themselves the blastolene brothers. Jay Leno's "tank car" was built by them before he bought it and made it drivable. Really cool/wild cars, people pay big BIG bucks for them.

That '57 is beautiful. That is my favorite year Ford truck too. I think it needs a little more of a period look though, it just takes something away from it when everything on it is so modern.

Maybe the guy I was listening to wasn't the owner then, maybe a friend or brother? I just eavesdropped on a conversation he was having about the truck, where he didn't know answers to simple stuff that a guy would know if he built the truck.
So I guess I could be wrong about him being the owner. I should have taken his picture.

Whoever he was, he got a first place in his class at the show. 8)
