On days when there ain't guidance and control issues occupying my time and I get to play crew chief on a launch. I find it satisfying standin' by on the startup of four 42000lbs of thrust per motor Pratt and Whitney F117 goodness. Plus it makes a cool photo...

watch your head bud the guy in the background has the controls/cord he looks like hes about ready to fire it up and see how many times he can spin round and round, round before falling down

Couple of pics taken my a Lt. friend of mine when I was on the acceptance crew of another brand new jet. Kinda interesting this one was delivered by a 4 star. Was talkin' to our group commander (the Col. in the center) that I had never actually met a 4 star before, just saluted a 4star bus driving by when I was at Sheppard. Anyway, the Col. introduced me, the four star asked me about my job, then was I the one going to take care of the few avionics problems that popped up in flight. Said yes my team would, and to my surprise hands he hands me a personal 4 star coin.

Anyway, some pictures...

Then for ultra short landings Thrust Reverser's can be engaged. Shown here on 71 while 76 doin' it's earlier flyby.

I have a coin I have carried in my pocket now for 16 years or so. It commemorates when SAC (Strategic Air Command) was shut down. It can not even be read anymore! I know what it is and have another one put away.

Adrian, keep up the good work. If i were you and i loved my job i would stay in the Air Force, get all the rank i could, let them educate me as much as possible, retire when the time was right. Jobs and perks on the outside suck and no improvement in sight.

Got two questions...do you think you could borrow that bird in 2 years to fly some slicks to the next Slick Stock and back. and how many Slicks can we get in the back?

Oh one more thing we need a pilot.

How you guys liking those new BDU's? I got out before they went to those. I was an MH-53 guy at Kirtland. Definately keep a little "love me" book for all these little things you do as a young Airman. I hated trying to make up a bunch of bullets last minute for my dirt bag troops come EPR time because they were too lazy to jot it down through the year. Needless to say I had to write alot of 4's.
I love them ol' C-17s though. I see them all day every day at work. I'm working with the Army 160th Spec Ops Aviation Regiment and the C-17's and C-5's are in and out like clockwork doing load-outs. Have fun with your work there and use that 100% tuition assistance while you can. You GAC's troops get all the sweet paying jobs when you get out.
