Update from this past weekend.
I got stuff done but didn't finish what I wanted to. I guess some progress is better than no progress.
Brakes are finished and operational now. Had to punt with the stainless steel lines as the metal/flaring was just hard to get a sold flare. The good tool made for it had trouble

. Oh well they are done now with steel lines a hell of a lot easier to flare.
I installed the engine and figured out that it was locked because the transmission was in a bind some how. I pulled the engine and tranny then separated the two. Put them back together and all is now working. They are back in the truck.
I went to install my nice new (looking) drive line and figured out the yoke was keyed and would not install in my tranny

I know I tested it before sending it off to the shop so either I am smoking crack or there was a mix up at the shop. Who knows but I now have to go to the bone yard Saturday for a yoke. Such a joy I tell you.
Installed the rear driver's window and found that it would not roll up all the way. so I will have to figure that out but I think I will install the passenger rear window first just to see what happens.
Got the right inner fender, hood hinge and core support bolted in.
Here are a couple of pictures we will see if she makes it to SS4. Starting to think that it might.........................................................

Still working on the Crew.. Soon after my last update I pulled the plug on the crew making it to SS4.. Just to many things to do still and I want this project to be fun again. With me spending just about every moment working on it the project became not so fun anymore. I might just drive the 64 to SS4 but who knows at this point.
But I am still working on it and making small amounts of progress. Not many big things for pictures.
A couple of weekends ago Brian and I got the radiator installed along with some EFI wiring and condensor for AC. I also have the hoses done for PS/hydro bost. I put oil in the engine yesterday then found out the brand new starter was dead. Dang thing only turned the motor over once.

at least it was under warrenty.
I also tested the new starter and it turned the engine over great. After finally finding the correct Yoke Saturday at the bone yards I have the drive line installed. One rear tire is reinstalled and on the ground just have to get the second one done.
I also installed the new (used) valve cover we got from the bone yard saturday. I found out that the trucks used a slightly different one than the vans. Rockers and upper valve tran looked excellent. I wasn't really expecting it to look so good.
So progress is a little slow but Hopefully before October this thing will be on the road. SS4 would of been great but I think I made the correct move plus it's gonna be done right...

Thanks mark and chris I do think it will pay off in the end. I think it has already started to pay off as I am enjoying the project more.

I used an early 70's MC with power breaks...
A couple of good links are below. One for parts and one for how to make the bracket.

How to...
http://www.ncspecialties.com/autobody/hydro/index.htm I justed used a flat plate of steel because with the 65 you do not need the extra adjustment like this site did.

I figured it was time for an update.
Progress has been moving very slow since SS4. Cub Scouts taking most of my time from the crew cab. The main thing I have been working on is the wiring (main wiring and EFI). This weekend I finally got 96% or the EFI wiring completed and tested. After about 13 times of the computer saying "He you dumb Idiot you don't have XYZ hooked up" I finally got everything hooked up. At least what is needed for the inital fire up of the engine. I still have a couple of things to do but they are minor (BOO, VSS, OD switch, OD light, O2)...
Since I had most everything ready for the first startup I went ahead and tried. At first it was back firing so I checked the plug wires. Wow way off I guess someone unpluged the wires and just pluged them back in where ever they wanted.
Now it was trying to fire but it just didn't start. I cranked the engine to 10TDC and found that the dizzy was set to 0TDC which is why I couldn't get it to fire correctly. I removed the hold down screw for dizzy and tried to turn it. Needless to say the dizzy is 100% frozen (Internals still spin but not the outside). Long story short I now have a broken dizzy and a gash on my hand. grrrrrrrrr
I do love scaring my wife. After the got the gash I went inside and said "Jenny I need some First Aid come help me". She just loves the site of blood.

It wan't that bad just a little cut but it sure does help getting some assitance.
All in all it was a good weekend of working on the truck. I wish the barclays trip would of happened but it didn't. Almost had the engine started. Now to get the rest of the dizzy out of the hole which is not gonna be fun. PB blast wouldn't free it.

Time for the B.F.H.
Wish I would have made it there, even my trip to the yards failed when the wife and sis took off for the day. I will be there next time and will have no problem watching you bleed. Or firing the crew up, which ever..........

Yep B.F.H and the Heat Wrench... Some more blood to give to crew for sure... I just am hoping I don't have to pull the motor to get that thing out....

Good news finally got the engine fired up. Still rough but since I have no radiator hooked up I didn't want to run it for to long. I hate having to fab up radiator hoses but I guess that what I get for using the universal radiators.
Below is a short video of the engine running. Notice idle is a little rough but the EFI was doing its job trying to keep engine running. A little after this I was showing JT (My son) how it ran, I wish I had recorded that test as it was far better than this one.

I still have 4-6 wires to hook up but they are related to movement not engine running.
This is a 5 mb movie file.

I figured out last night why it was running so crappy. I guess the fuel pump/sender I bought was for the carb version because I only get about 5 psi on the fuel rails. I really am surpized it started at all. I got the correct one on it's way and should start really good this weekend. I also have the stuff to get the radiator hoses installed.
So Brian T you were needing a pump/pickup for that bronco II tank. I have one for sale now. fairly cheap.

I replaced the fuel pump tonight and it fired right up. I was even ready with the video on my phone. I ran nothing like that first time. Sure is better with 40 psi rather than 6 psi.
I got the radiator hooked up tonight also plus put 3 gals of water in it. Figured run water for now until It get up to temp then drain and fill with antifreeze.
Longer and bigger move file. 13mb To bad my web server doesn't do streaming. I might have to break down and post on utube on day . Naw.

Going down to metal shop tomorrow on my runs to grab some pip to help finish out the exuasht. I feel like working all night on it now. Getting it runing sure has got me runing again on this project.

Congrats!
I know what you mean. Once you jump that one big hurdle you feel like running til the end.
I've been dying to get back onto mine, but just been swamped all week. Hopefully Sunday.

Today was a great day. As you can see from below. If the 64 wasn't in the way I would have gone a lot farther.
Yes the crew cab moved out of the shop under its own power. It even made it back into the shop....
Some more pictures Yes I have a few wires to clean up but eveyerthing works. I even got the truck up to temp it was about 160 when I shut it down because it started pushing water out the radiator (warming up..)
I even swept under the truck. I haddn't done that in a long while...

Very cool! Round trips are always good. Looks like you DO have a couple of wires to hook up
