Thanks Alan. I actually laid in bed Saturday AM and said Self get everything done on the frame before you put that cab back on... lol So yea shop is really full right now. Just more modivation to get stuff done.

I did get the fuel line bulk heads installed, the front Break hose mounting bracket and cab mounts installed. Yes I put the rubber mounts on the frame so I wouldn't lose the parts.


TR you could bring that frame down here I didn't have to wait for a run or pay a setup fee they just did it.

Weezle your should turn out good also just make sure you get all the rubber parts...

Dang that frame looks good. Sandblasting it is the best way to go, just looks so much better after its painted when its been sandblasted. Should last a very very long time lol. Keep up the great work.

I did a lot of work this weekend on the crew. I even had help from JT (son) and Dave (wolfee).

What I did this weekend.

1. Finished the tie rod/steering box install.



2. Ran and secured the return fuel line.



3. Tried to flare stainless steel brake line and broke the flare tool (need one made for stainless steel ) .

No pic for this mistake can't do it.. lol

4. Put the cab back on the frame and that was no easy task.



5. Scuffed the inside and dash. Scuffed the fire wall and cowl area.



6. Sprayed regular primer (inside area's) so I can sand it all smooth.

This feels like a milestone to see the cab back on, all the work that has gone into it. Chris is in full steam ahead mode to get 'er done in time for SS. Makes me crazy some days listening to him talk so much about it-LOL! Nah, just jealous (FRYING PAN). If I could only get that kind of attention-GEEZ. Seriously, it makes me proud and honored to be involved in and see the behind-scenes that all goes into a full restore like this. Thanks to Dave, Brian and all the online advice!! I think we may have to have a party when we get the engine in...

Chris, I thought you already started putting color on? Was that just a test - the two-tone dash awhile back?

Aren't you going to paint the whole truck yourself?

Well I did spary color on the dash but the blue was wrong. Plus I had a couple area's that just didn't work out so I just sanded it all back off and started over (on the dash that is).

Actually I will be doing the inside and if it works out Gary is going to help spary the outside. at least that is the plan right now.

So Chris are we meeting at your place after Decatur to work on the crew?
I have grown my fingerprints back and I have most of the sand out of my hair.

Nope I will be out camping with the webelos. so no real work this next weekend. Maybe the next I do need to blast some more. (you don't need finger prints.)

Greg, the red truck is my original with 122k miles on it. It's just the way that I want it. My project truck is another 64.

That's temping but I have a 5.0 putter with the 4rw70 tranny controls that I will chip for the 5.8... It has the controls and harness for my setup. If I got that lighting computer I would have to add a charger.... humm (No chris only 181 days left get it runing. )

Chris with a charger you could get there faster so you can leave a little later which would give you another day to finish "ya, ya thats the ticket"

Yea it's not how fast I get there but rather if it's running by then.. lol But hey if your sprining for the cost of adding the charger I won't complain...
