Bacon fried in Butter?

Post by john gilbert »

I just heard on the TV news that the stuff they use to cut down on the trans fats in food has just been discovered to be as bad, if not worse than the bad stuff.

Butter your bacon boys, it don't matter what you eat anymore.

It's good for you it's not good for you then it's not good for you again. I say just eat what you want in moderation & all will be good. The less chemicals you eat in processed food the better.

i never listen to any of that stuff.

always have used butter, and eat bacon or sausage and eggs just about every day for breakfast.

i eat what i want, and get plenty of exercise.thats the best plan i think.

Had a wake up recently about diet

My wife's surgeon basically told her that all the sugar (soda, cereals, etc) coupled with some weight she put on messed up her blood sugar levels badly. That is what messes up your immune system.

She had had all kinds of issues in 09 then breast cancer.

Doc said cut sugar, more vegetables and fruit.

She may be in chemo but so far no colds or flu and her color has been better. I quit pop and sweets for a while. I honestly felt better too.
Holidays are screwing me up now though

Of the things I remember about my Grandmother something she told me late in her life rings very true.
She had been diagnosed with a heart problem again (she was in her late 80s at this point) and refused the surgery to repair it.
Knowing that I would get it she as far as I know shared this with me alone.

One way to look at this too - If you are going to give up everything good to try to live forever (a battle you will lose anyway) then what's the flippin point.

Soda, that is one thing I rarely drink. I will have one once in awhile - 1 per week is alot for me.
I drink alot of tea though, the citrus green tea, raspberry tea, peach tea, sweet tea, lemon, plain.
I drink beer, almost always have a beer or maybe 2 (not uncommon to kill the better part of a 12 or more on a weekend though, lol). Part of that is I keep good beer here - picked up a 12 of Sam Adams Winter Lager tonight. I actually don't really drink them as much as sip them too.

was at a resteraunt that actually had chicken fried bacon on the menu, can you imagin bacon breaded then deep fried,,, i almost ordered it just to see how it was..

about diet,
i was diagnosed with cancer in may , doctor said same thing about sugar, said that it feeds the cancer cells, i try to not eat alot of sweet stuff, but during the holidays it is very tough, once you get the sweet taste you crave it, if you dont eat it, you really dont miss it
