Darn "straight" they rule!
Seriously, they aren't as hard on tires as a Twin I, they are easier and cheaper to lower, less parts = more durable, I prefer the way they drive.

I didn't vote because I have very mixed emotions about the subject. I have a fondness for both. Before I bought my twin beam 65 model I would have just as easily bought an earlier straight axle. I once owned a 64 CC back in the day and I dearly loved the truck and had I found one before I bought the truck that I now have, I would be driving a straight axle and loving it. On the other hand the twin beams cant be that bad, after all they have been around for a long time. :? I know what you are thinking, typical woman, can't make up her mind.

^^ I know what you mean Michelle, I've driven a 79 Bronco for over 20 years with the straight axle with gears as Brian calls it. Plus all the years I have driven heavy truck with the straight axle. That have been here since the beginning of the buggy. But have driven Twin i beams also. Both are good both have their place.

I like DUAL straight axles, Twin I Beam rule for offroading and rough driving! I like straight axles for 4x4s! Thats one of the things so cool about our trucks, if you like straight, then there are slicks for you if you like twin then there are slicks for you! I personally like the twins since you can upgrade with later ford stuff and get disc brakes and power steering just like ford would have done it!

I too have twin straight axles. I like what I have and so do the rest of you. The poll is like saying who likes vanilla ice cream........well most of us but we like chocolate too and most of the other flavors because it is ICE CREAM (AKA Ford trucks). Using an analogy.
By the way Merry Christmas and did you notice all the forum posts today we are all off work or just off

I've had both put kind of lean to the straight axle's, their more "period" correct in my book!! I've put disk conversions on them and the pattened Uncle Skip sway bar using Bronco 2 stuff( thanks again Deuce) and works great for me.
