gone for a long time
started out with a big crash on the puter way back in the spring right before Max visited.it still giving me fits so i mostly ignore it.
i had some other issues to deal with as well.
still alive and kicking but not online much at all anymore.
collected 2 more trucks this summer a 66 f100 custom cab with 352, parts truck and a 65 f350 cab/frame that was at one time a maytag service truck.working on getting a 62 wrecker soon.
still driving my 66 and Mrs.Ice still driving hers.managed to scrounge up the needed parts for hers and will be getting my 65 f350 wrecker on the road next month so i can begin working on hers.
i took the 65 wrecker with its bored out 390 on a ride around the block last week, the dana 70 posi rear really zings the gravel when the clutch is dumped,
the engine is running good but she drinks fuel with a big straw if you stomp too hard or often.
nothing done on the 61 f500 4x4 all year except moving it around.
the city folks are coming and it irritates me to no end that they wish to bring their attittudes about what we keep on our land. they would like to kill my personal salvage yard, along with those of the rest of us who have them. a few local vehicle collecters have died in the past year and it is sad that some nice stuff has been hauled to the crushers.its only valuable to the one who owned it and the few that might be able to snag it before the relatives have it hauled off because they do not have the desire to fight for keeping it or need to sell the land.
wish they would go away and leave us alone, i dont go there and give them any grief about what they do.
i now will only bring home slicks and guess i will have to be more selective and work on hiding them. so much for unrestricted land anymore.
hope all the rest of you are doing alright, i will stop by again sometime hopefully soon.
i have a lot to do before the winter, and i would like to build a new heated shop next year if possible as the old barn is needing replacement and i can no longer work out in the elements much on the trucks.also i would like to get all my inventory of parts out of the weather and organized, i have too much and it takes too long to find anything.
good luck all.

Welcome back, thats too bad you live up in alaska and there are people giving you fits because you arent like them, I deal with that down here in colorado as well. My girlfriend spent half her life growing up up there, and her mom still lives there, we have been talking about going up there for a year or so because there is a good paying job for her, and I could go back to wrenching (if I have to) for a living. I have been wondering what I would do with all of my rides if I did this. Guess il lfigure something out.
Anyways, again Welcome back

Brian.
Welcome back brother... don't stay away so long next time.
I guess Alaska is no longer the last frontiere.
Watch out for those politicians. If they start promising you something for nothing, put your hands firmly on your wallet and run like hell.
I don't understand people who think they're so smart they are entitled to tell you how you should live.
Anyway, glad you're back.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Glad to hear you are OK Brian. Just paint your house neon green or something to irritate them even more, lol. Also remember snooty people love straight pipes.

Brian, you said: "...the city folks are coming and it irritates me to no end that they wish to bring their attitudes about what we keep on our land."
Sounds like Yankees to me.
Yankees defined as obnoxious liberals, contemptuous of Southern culture (meaning FREEDOM) telling us how to live.

PS: Alaska ain't the "North" otherwise known as "Yankee Land." Alaska is THE North!

Brian, sure am glad you made it back. I was scared something bad had happened. Tried to get in touch every way i could think of, even tried to find a phone no. didnt have any luck at that either.
Man i feel for ya with people moving in and wanting to take over. Wanting you to live your life the way they want you to. As far as im am conserned if they dont like what they see when they get to a new area, MOVE BACK FROM WHERE THEY CAME.
One thing you can try. Remeber what Lady Godiva did!!!!
Once again glad you are back and all is ok.

Brian has turned mountain hippie and has resorted to the way the internet worked during the wild west. You get on a horse and go up there and say hello in person. Worked for me! 'Cept my horse was made by Boeing.
Glad to hear you're doing swell Brian. Just keep grabbing up those ignored and forgotten Slicks!

hey Ice glad to see youre ok
Sorry to hear about the city idiots. Few things get me as riled up as that attitude. Really depressing though as everyone thinks of Alaska as the last refuge from that kind of mentality. I've considered moving up there once or twice.
We were really amused when we stopped by my sister's the other day. She lives in a development with tiny 3000 sq ft lots, and theyre talking about developing the other half of the 10 acres next to them. There was a massive screaming from the people in the current development... "you cant build that next to us!" This from people that are LIVING in a development built on the same land. Where do they think their current houses came from? The toothfairy magically made them appear there? People want to control everyone elses land after they've got their own and tell them what they can and cannot do.
meh.
Hope things work out, keep us posted.
