After market gauges have a little bracket that fits on the back of said gauge and holds it to the panel you've cut the hole in. Look at the first picture.
I think I remember most of them are 2-5/8" diameter so finding a hole saw can be a problem.
Are you talking about the little bullet indents at the side of your regular speedometer cluster? I put my voltage gauge and fuel gauge on each side of the speedometer. Look at the second photo too. Is this what you're asking?
I also blanked out the old idiot lights too. If you're interested in that, take a look in the hints and tricks forum; I think I posted the pictures of how I did that there.
Suprise us. Use your imagination and see what you can come up with.

Try Haneline products. They make some pretty sexy machined dash parts.

Look at this page www.jbmicrofinish.com/catalog_3.html to see what J&B Microfinish offers. Some members here have their stuff. ASk Mike Kimbrell. J&B has made parts for several Ridler Award winners. You will not find any better quality anywhere. Each piece is custom made so if you want something different than what you see, just ask them to make it your way.
