Re: Disc brake swap is it worth it
the disc brakes were "rebuilt" when i got the truck, i found out later that the last guy to work on it only did brake hardware and no master cylinders. so i put new ones in and got a dual reservoir power booster at cost, and will put that on as soon as i have motivation. but for now the br...

Re: questions on power steering, bed repair & radiator suppo
i found a guy on craigslist who was selling or parting out a parts truck he got. he's going to let me cut a section out of the bed of the truck at no cost, and thats pretty awesome! so there is that problem solved. yesterday i pulled a power steering pump and bracket from a 72 f100, now all i need t...

Re: can i use the column shifter with a 3 speed toploader?
After a trip to the junk yard, I pulled a Hurst floor shifter off a 74 f100, and the column shift linkage off a 72 f100. I think I'm going to move the shifter back to the column now that I've got all the parts needed. My total today, 19 bucks!

Re: questions on power steering, bed repair & radiator suppo
haus thanks!! i might actually bid on that radiator support! i wasnt really ready to get into another project that, but for that piece in that good of condition i do appreciate the search you made. your advice on the parts truck is noted, and i regret not buying a '73 for $300 from a friend of mine....

Re: can i use the column shifter with a 3 speed toploader?
Yeah, it will work. They actually came from the factory like that. I have a 3 spd toploader from a 72 f100 in my 63 wrongbed. If you get the column, get the shift rods too. are the shift rods the same? i know i can get other linkage parts to make it work but i cant find the rods and im not sure if ...

Re: can i use the column shifter with a 3 speed toploader?
perhaps with others, but as far as i can see ive only got 2 levers. it actually looks like it might work with some custom brackets and whatnot. i pulled out the shop manual, and compared pictures and such with my trans, and i think it just might work. but id be curious to know if someone has any exp...

can i use the column shifter with a 3 speed toploader?

Re: manual steering seems tougher than it should be.
i have FINALLY gotten around to doing my cab mounts. its been months, there was a friend of a friend who had done several of these and offered to help. long story short, while waiting for him we decided to sell our house and move (which meant finishing projects that were started fast, and we're stil...

will an 87 f150 300 6cyl and 4 sp trans drop into my 65?
A friend has informed me of an 87 f150. Running it just had a tree fall on the cab. Its being sold for 300 bucks.
This seems like a perfect opportunity for me to put a better drive train in my 65 f100.
What kind of headache can I expect if I were to do this?

i see that it looks like you had to modify or add an adapter plate. you tell me a bit about what you did, do you have a thread about the build?
