72' F-100 body on a 66' F-100 frame?

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. So here is my problem. I have a 1972 F-100 Cab and short bed, but I need a frame. I found a 1966 F-100 frame, but need to know if my 72' body will fit on a 66' frame?

Is it 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive? My 66 long bed 2WD is sitting on a 76 high boy 4x4 chassis with about an extra inch between the bed and cab. This is to center the wheels. so, the 66 frame may be a little short for the bed. I am no expert on the swap but I'm sure some one else will chime in. OH, BY THE WAY,

the 66 frame should be the same as the the 72. but, if i'm wrong, someone will chime in and correct me. lol

Its a 2WD short bed.

cab will bolt right on, bed will too if its the same length ,longbed on lwb frame, shortbed on swb frame.

So my 72' cab and short bed should bolt right up to a 66' short bed frame without any modifications?

yes, cab mounts are the same from 65 to 72 and i think the bed mounts the same as well. at least the bed bolts appear to be the same and in the same locations.

A 72 will fix right on a 65 frame.
