As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.

It has the 65, 66 cab on it. He said the guy installed a 292 Thunderbird Special in it. The Thunderbird Special engine was a 312. The engine in this truck is just a plain old 292, probably lower horse power than the 64 models.

Just a minor factual correction, the 56 Thunderbird special was indeed a 312 but the 55 Thunderbird special was a 292. Along those lines the 58 Thunderbird special was a 352, the 1961 was was a 390. The name was dropped in the late 60's in favor of the more "hip" term ThunderJet used in the 1968 and later models. Also note that while in a Thunderbird the Thunderbird special was the big dog, in the regular Ford cars the Thunderbird special could be a lesser engine (it was a marketing thing for a while). In reality he may well have a 292 Thunderbird special but it really isn't of much value! HawkrodMichelle wrote:It has the 65, 66 cab on it. He said the guy installed a 292 Thunderbird Special in it. Now the ebay auction at least has a good description, shoulda cut and pasted that one! And yes I ment, grille, engine, year. Kinda an unusual step backwards as far as driveline, but I like the truck!
