question about kick plate.

Post by sgettin »

i'm at the point on my 63 pillar rebuild where i need to fix the interior kick plate. from the factory did the kick plate panel stop at the floor pan or is it one peice of sheet that originally ran all the way down past the floor pan and stopped at the bottom of the pillar support?. not sure how it went, don't want to end up with to many layers and have trouble getting my step, riser, rocker to fit right.

thanks

I'm not familiar with all of the terminology. Have a look at my photobucket album to see if it helps.

Didn't Brian(Iceman) post some cab assembly pics awhile back? Might show what you are looking for.

The Kick panel is a stamping from the cowl to the lower fender mount it is part of the sandwitch of layers.

thanks garbz, you've made my weekend alot easier. could have pbly made something work but wanted it fairly close to factory. here is a pic of the inside of the pillar i'm dealing with if anyone is interested. basically nothing left from the lower door hinge down. not resto show room work but rust is delt with and for my skill level good enough for me.

p.s. if anyone has a good closeup pic of the original factory setup front back and sidewaze for reference it would be greatly appreciated.

and i'll search for icemans post/pics.
