Lost in Nova Scotia
Only a Canadian would get this:

Two American tourists were driving through Nova Scotia.
As they were approaching Shubenacadde (shoe-been-aack-id-dee),
they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name.
They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch.
As they stood at the counter, one tourist asked the employee,
"Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us?
Would you please pronounce where we are... ver-r-ry slo-o-owly?"

The waitress leaned over the counter and says:

"Tiiimmmmm Hoorrrrttoooonnns..."

From one of my Canadian friends..

Ricky.

NO matter where you go in Canada they are more common than houseflies, but in Ontario they are literally on every street corner.

I never go there because I can't see sitting in a drive thru for minimum 1/2 hr to get a weak cup of coffee. I used to leave my son at hockey practice at 6:00am, and pick him up after picking up a coffee at the drive thru at Tims, the only place open, 3 blocks away, an hour later.

Service? what is that?

Starbucks rules.

At the University of Calgary there's a food court with two of them, separated by a single retail space. Maybe 15 to 20 feet apart...

Yes it really is bizzare how a place with such horrendous customer service does so well. that it can justify locations that close. A true Canadain Mystery, which I choose not to be a part of.

well, if the service is so slow, they need 2 or 3 to put out the needed service.... Like checkout lines at Balls mart. They need a lot because they take forever...

Every morning I drive by what must be at least 30-35 cars in a line up at their drive thru. Every single morning!!

Parking your car and going in the store doesn't help either.
The people they hire there work at a pace where you have to put a stake in the ground to see if they are actually moving. old.gif

What the appeal of the place is, I am not really sure. :dontknow: Must be something.

I just remembered another peculiarity. They also have the locations inside some Esso gas stations. In Canmore, Alberta they have a Tim's/Wendy's combo, with an Esso station in the very same parking lot. The Esso has self-serve Tim's coffee, and no lineup!

I like the bagels and I'll grab a coffee once in a while. I don't understand the huge lineups though. It's not the only game in town.
