stereo question..help please???

so i bought a stereo from the local shop and went to install it and it is to long...has anyone came across this problum. it hits the windshield wiper motor and i will take it back tommrow but i was wondering what to do....will anything fit there besides the two hole and little box style or can i find a cd player radio that will fit there that is not to long... thanks guys and i will get some pictures soon..... oh yah its going in my 64 4x4 thanks

I ran into this with my sisters 65 what i did was cut the tabs off the wiper motor and solder the wires each back on at a angle on the the nubs and wraped each in eltrical tape.you can also get a plastic mount the holds the radio out about two inchs.on my 65 i mounted it under the dash because i did not want to cut up the stock dash my sisters truck had a big hole already cut out good luck

thanks for the info.....its not actually hitting the wiper wires it hitting the motor housing.... but thanks ......ill run to town today and see what they say ......thanks
