in 66 "y" denotes a 352 v8. i have no idea on a 65.

65 was the first year for the twin i and 352 so at least that much is right. if the vin has a "y" then i would wonder if it is not a 66. does the vin on the frame match the title and door tag?

D is the correct letter for 65 352.
was replaced by Y for 66

some states listed the year originally built/sold on the titles so if ut was an early 65 it could be listed as a 64 and be correct in the eyes of that states DMV at the time.

Tracy (didgeytrucker) is a good guy but there is missing/ incomplete info on that link.
