Just found and joined this forum. We are proud new parents of a 64 Slick. We've had her about a month and have been tinkering ever since. I found her in Colorado and had her shipped to FL since there aren't many to choose from down here that aren't cancer ridden.
Here she is before we bought her:

Good looking truck and glad to welcome you to Slick 60s. There are never too many questions either.
Give us more detail on your truck and more pics..ie engine trans etc.

Welcome from central fl.Glad to have another Fl. member here. Where are you located? Sure is nice that you were able to drive your truck so soon after you got her.Looks like she's in pretty good shape.But we do need more info on her and definately more pics.

Thanks, will try to get some updated pics this weekend.
Specs:
Engine: 223 I-6
Trans: Manual Column 3 Speed
Rear: 9" 3.89:1
Color: "V" Academy Blue
Built: Dallas (and seems to have spent most it's life in TX and CO)

The truck is very original and hasn't really been modified in anyway. I've been slowly working through the "issues" but we've been driving it every weekend. If it weren't for the manual steering and original drum brakes it would probably be a daily driver for the better half.

Done so far:
Fuel tank, lines/filter
Brakes, adjust e-brake
Ignition: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points condensor
Carb rebuild
Interior parts

Left to do:
3 point seat belts (we live in South Florida!)
Radiator/Heater flush and new hoses
Get floor pan rust under control
Windshield
Figure out how to get old Ebrake handle off and new one on

Horn wire in column or contact plate has an issue
Figure out why high beams aren't working (new floor switch didn't fix it)
Door Seals and window anti-rattle
Find a suitable dry air cleaner for the Autolite 1100 to replace oil bath
Try to tighten up steering wheel play
Whatever else we come across

welcome aboard 64. you can gut that oil bath and use a paper filter and keep the stock look. but there is nothig wrong with keeping the oil in it. they work very good.

That is a real nice looking truck.
If you are driving it that much you really should do a dual master cylinder conversion ASAP. It's an afternoon job and makes the brakes on these old trucks ALOT safer.

Welcome and nice find! You will discover the year 1964 to be a year of many subtle changes. Too bad the advertisements were not done in real color photos, most all ads were artists renditions up to 1966.
