Hi guys,
65F100, 2WD, 9" rear, orig. engine was a 6 cyl.
I replaced both seals on the end of rear axle tubes and I still have a leak. Closer inspection of that axle shaft shows the area where the seal rides has worn down a few thousands and is lightly pitted.
Do they make replacement seals with more offset (inwards) that part of the axle shaft looks like brand new. I've also heard I can replace the stock bearing with a sealed version (oring on the outside and seal inside).
Any advice ? Do I just need to find a new axle shaft ?
thanks.

There is a product, and I forget the exact name, that is basically a sleeve you put onto the axle that covers the worn area. I think they may have been made by Bowman, an automotive hardware supplier. I used to sell these when I worked in the business. You may want to ask your local NAPA or other good parts store about them.
