That's great news! Thanks for posting the link and the information. I saw an ad probably a year ago advertising a Ford column. When I called Ididit they didn't know anything about it, but suggested that I send them a Ford wheel to see what it would take to modify one of theirs to fit. I never did it, but it looks like maybe someone else did. Would hope the columns are not any more expensive than the "regular" type. They cost enough. I'm sure it wouldn't be a "bolt in" but I would think you could use the column in a 64 and earlier truck with a R&P setup by modifying the way it fits through the firewall?

$549 for the same one at JEGS.

Probably not going to see much discounting on a "new" product?

UPDATE: I thought wrong. I e-mailed this site: http://www.buyididitsteeringcolumnsonli ... 7QodER7zcg
for a quote and they came back with $397 with free shipping in lower 48 US.

Why put one of those high dollar I did its in your truck when you can get a tilt column of or a 78 79 F 150 at the junk yard for 50 dollars or less. I put on in a 79 in my 56 and it works perfectly. The 56 did take a little modifying to get it in but that works and was a lot cheaper.

Hey Michelle: If you can find one (floor shift tilt column), I'll buy it from you (at a nice profit). :-) Those things are scarce as the proverbial "hens teeth" around here.

I agree Gerald that the floor shift column may be a little hard to find if it even exist. I have had two or three of the tilt columns for the automatic trannys. Any time I see on in the junk yard I allways get it because I know someone will come along and want it.

I'll take one of those if you can locate one in good shape! Prefer a power steering, tilt column, floor shift unit (probably rarest of the rare).

I've got a 1980 E 350 van tilt column for a C6 automatic. It looks like I could adapt it to just about anything if I wanted to. I think I DID IT is very much overpriced for what it is. They look nice but how durable are they for every day use that most of us would subject them to.

AFAIK the only vendor that has a column that a Ford steering wheel fits on is the NEW Ididit column that Santi posted. All others use either a GM or an aftermarket wheel.

Is 325 to much for a column out of a 75 f100, tilt, column shift, power steering?

Well, I had a guy at a salvage yard try to charge me $495 for a "rebuilt" 79/PWS/Tilt/Floor shift column. It would have been $295 if I'd had a core to exchange. It didn't help that the guy was a total D-bag to me, trying to tell me that there is "no such thing as a Saginaw gear box in a Fod truck" and that I must be mistaken because there was only ever a Bendix box and a Ford (Saginaw) box from that era. I endured his crap until I got the price quote, which I then laughed at and told him about the comparitive cost of the Flaming River, IDIDIT and CPP units. Good luck and click!

Considering the fact that you can get a brand new IDIDIT PWS/Tilt column for $397 shipped (based on what Gritsngumbo posted above)... I'm going with IDIDIT.

yes I agree, I thought it sounded a little on the high side for a column right out of a truck, I asked if it was completely rebuilt, he said no, and the rebuilt one would cost 475

I think it all depends on how much you want it or need it. According to Michelle's post it seems high, but you don't find them around here, especially the 4 speed columns.

i have an 82 econoline with the tilt column.
i like the tilt but i absolutely hate the key in the column in the winter when its below 0.

would never put one in a slick for that reason.

I would bet on that NEVER happening :-). The "red headed step children" don't get much respect (or aftermarket parts). Better than it was a few years ago though.
