Greg, have you seen the beautiful red 60 Starliner the guy in his late 70s drives around Omaha? It was at the all Ford show in Benson two years ago. I don't remember what engine he had in it, but it was the sweetest sounding car I have ever heard. He told me the 60 Fords are larger overall than 59 Cadillacs, I don't know about that, but the trunk was immense.

Knew a guy who had a real sharp 60 Starliner with a continental kit on the back and that thing was BIG! I had a 61 Galaxy Starliner in my senior year of high school and college. It was gold with a white top. Wish I still had it. Looked just like this red one.

The '60 big Fords were 80 inches wide. The biggest Ford ever produced.
And Starliners are my absolute favorite car of all time.
Now stop this madness and quit teasing me.

:?
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

I think given the lot shown, I'd pick the Starliner. Probably the coolest (and rarest) body of the lot. However, the breezeway window on those Mercs were pretty damn cool!

Now I can understand the love for the Starliners, they are one of the rare big pigs that I can tolerate, they have such style!! Especially that orange one with the SOHC Gary posted in this thread. And this one. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/features ... to_05.html

But that Turnpike Cruiser would take several wheelbarrows worth of cash, I would guess in the 25-30000 dollar range, just to get it decent (BTW that AIN'T "surface rust" just under the back passengers' door, lady)
and all you'd have is something you could never afford to drive at today's gas prices!! 430 MEL with a 4 barrel you better own your own Oil company!!
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I think it was the 57 Merc Turnpike cruiser had what was basically a huge Y block with dual quads. Would be a REAL cool engine for an old school styled Uni!
I know where there are 2-3 61 Starliners sitting - a few blocks from where Aaron works in Norfolk Ne.

Pretty neat Starliner even if it didn't have the cammer. It has a Mercury dash and a 64 interior. It was very tastfully done.
