Do you have the little covers that go over the rectangluar openings located at either kick panel, slightly above and back of the vents? They're secured with one screw and a tab.
Mike: That is one SOLID truck! I would get the upholstery shop to save that old seat cover, and have them use the section with the embossed emblem to cover the seat for a shop stool......you'll be the coolest kid on the block!!
Or send it to me, and I'll use it on one of the stools I'm going to build!!
I gave up on trying to get the old firewall pad out in one piece since I'm replacing it anyway. Removed the steering column, pedals, heater box.
I'm at a point where I can start sanding but that will be tomorrow. Still need to get the parking brake out but not a big deal.
List of new stuff to buy:
Steering column boot
Clutch Boot
Gas Pedal
Brake Clutch Pedal Pads
Firewall cover and clips
Grommets
Heater Core ($30, why not)
Oh to find a truck with little to no rust on it.... DROOL, DROOL, Looks like an easy re-do compared to mine BigMike.... I love threads like this... Motivate me!!!!!!
I feel very fortunate not to have any rust. I'd really like to keep going and just strip the whole truck. Time, money, and not driving it are the factors right now. I'll get the cab done and drive it this Summer/Fall. This winter or next winter I'm pulling the front clip and engine/trans.
I should have everything completed before Memorial Day and get her back on the road.
BarnieTrk....NP.... T18 looks similar the mechanisum at the top of the shifter tower is different yours should thread on and the NP435 is a spring held in push and turn..........................Mike that floor pan is so clean you could almost eat off of it. Fes up Mike arent you really just taking that all apart shearching for easter eggs.
Wow, can't believe how slow this is going. I was set back a bit when I hurt my back a few weeks ago. I'm moving slow on the truck because I don't want to hurt it again. The good part of that is, I'm paying really close attention to detail and doing a better job.
The inside of the cab is completely sanded and I've started taping it off. I'm taking a bunch of parts to the powder coater tomorrow and hope to get them back in a week.
My plan is to have the inside painted by the end of the week. This weekend I'm going to start the power steering installation. I have to pick up the new parts from NAPA this week (steering gear, pump). I will also get the red PS column painted Caribbean Turquoise and get that ready to mount.
I'll shoot some more pictures as I go along. Looks like I won't make the Norcoss show but plan to be at Caffeine and Octane on June 5th.
