Neat truck. Very nice. Not to sound negative but if the truck was so low mile and original, why all the repainting? Sounds like it was a total time capsule when you found it... or maybe I missed something. I just kinda hate to see a nice original touched since there are so few of them left out there. But I suppose if they have to be touched, what you did with yours is the next best thing to leaving it alone. To each their own, I suppose. Very nice truck, in any case. Oh, weren't gold valve covers a '65 only thing? My '66 has an all-blue engine. Just curious. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Oops... just noticed that your truck IS a '65. Wish I had gold valve covers. They're cool.

Close, but the devil in is the details. The F 250 was done to much more exacting standards than the "Rockville" F100. The "Rockville" pickup is more typical of what you will see at a car shows, where a period correct restoration is not a high priorty. The very well done F250 is a much more period correct representation, pretty much a time capsule. F250's are rarely seen today with original wheels. Judging from the photos, the F 100 has incorrect wheels, the gravel shield between grill and bumper is not painted argent, and has incorrect ('63-'64) custom cab scratch guard door handles.Ask yourself, if a movie was to be made, set in 1965,and authenticity counts, which truck would you use?

No worries BackYardResto. It's just a personal preference thing. I really dig nice, all-original, never-painted vehicles... even if they show some patina. Some people like them to look like jewels. I admire that you saved as much factory paint as possible. It's still a super cool truck either way. I wouldn't turn it down.
