I followed the post on your truck for a while. Nicely done with the CV suspension & 4.6! As I recall you also installed a gas tank under the bed that allowed you to put the filler tube behind a flip-down license plate. I wish you would post more pics of that. That's the only way I would consider moving my tank because I don't think it makes much sense to have the filler tube in the middle of the bed. At the time you didn't know what the gas tank came from because you just picked it up at the salvage yard. Maybe with some pics and measurements some of us could figure it out and duplicate your application. That would be awesome!! Thanks.

HiJack?
With all due respect, this thread is about a 4.6/5/4 conversation. Rather than get the thread diverted onto another subject i.e: gas tanks, why not start a new threat or PM the member and ask about the tank swap. Just my 2 cents worth.
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

Relax. I PM'd him over a year ago about the gas tank and haven't seen him post since. I don't know how often he frequents the site. I thought since he had posted on this thread maybe he would also be subscribed to it and receive email notices about it. Besides, if you're going to do a 4.6/5.4 swap you're going to have to change the gas tank anyway. They're somewhat related. If he responds, we'll definitely start another thread about it.

At least I was courteous in my post. If he hasn't responded to your question. Why not send him an e-mail? BTW: Believe the subject is covered at length in "Hints and Tricks."

Hmmm....I guess accusing me of hijacking the thread is a funny way of being courteous. BTW: I know how to email. also BTW: that member's method of installing a rear gas tank is not covered anywhere in "Hints and Tricks." It's very unique and different. That's why I brought it up. I'm sure tons of guys here would be interested in seeing more pics of his installation. Now, with all due respect, if you're through hijacking this thread with all this trivial nonsense, let's get back to the 4.6/5.4 topic, shall we?

SORRY guys.I just now saw these posts.I guess I need to check my settings,b/c I haven't got anything in my email about these post, nor have I gotten any other email regarding the truck.
Unfortunately,I can't take any detailed pics about the rear mounted fuel tank b/c in the last year I have installed a IRS system from a T-bird and the fuel tank setup would no longer work due to the size of the IRS.I had to install a diffrent fuel tank and just cut a hole in the bed floor to fill it for now until I run it out the side of the bed later on when I do some more paint work. The fuel tank I had in it before I installed the IRS came from a 1970 chevelle.I had to shorten the filler neck to make it fit but it was a pretty simple install.Other than having to bend down low to fill it,it worked out great. I am planning on attending Slick Stock this year and I am looking forward to meeting the ones that will be there. If anyone has questions try emailing me and I will do my best to get bck OR check the forums more often.Take care....
