It's not exactly a build but I do have some stuff left to do, like headliner, seat recover, new wheels and tires, and who knows what else will pop up. Plus I wanted a place to make updates without a whole new thread each time.

Top of list things to do
1)wheel bearings
2)transmission shift issues
3)fuel sender and gauge cluster redo
3)interior details like headliner pieces and seat recover

1A)Dont leave it out under a tree!

I agree. We always manage to find something that we want to change or improve. Post a lot of pics.

tomquist was nice enough to send me a spare gauge cluster that worked and wasn't cracked

Black is going to look real good in the interior since this truck has very little chrome left

I painted the bezel with Rust-oleum black for Plastic
then I popped the rings off the lens and painted those black as well
Cleaned the clear lens with Rainex renewer for glass and plastic
took the thin black metal gauge cover off and repainted the needles with Bright Orange Crafters Acrylic (put sheet of paper under needle and paint with tiny brush)
finally sprayed the bezel with some duplicolor clear coat (not sure I needed too)

waiting for it all to dry, the putting it back in the dash. I made sure to label all the wires with numbers, then marker the related holes and posts on the gauge cluster to nothing got messed up.

the down side to using this cluster and working speedo is that I just gained 15000 miles

Looks much better than last time I saw it! While you have it apart you can roll the miles back to what was on the old one.

@bill. No the previous owner got it from arizona. His uncle had it or gave it to him or something like that. it was red originally, then repainted in the 90s a white color, then sanded and repainted again in 2009. The is not a spot of rust on the thing that I could find. if it's there its well covered

took off the dog dish caps and put on some full discs that I had bought years ago and never used. not sure if I like them or not. might look better with black wall tires, or just go with some chrome wheels next year. thoughts?

the full discs aren't bad but I prefer wheels over caps any day.... have you seen those chrome blades Ezer had posted for $80...

yeah i looked at those.the full discs aren't bad, they just don't do the truck much justice.

Gregg cut a coil or two up front and get the beams realigned . Then flip the rear axle and get the tires turned around so the white letters are inside . I think those changes will give her a whole new ATTITUDE

Gregg, that`s a hard choice!, the full dishes suit the truck with that colour scheme and the dog dishes would probably look better if the rims were another colour, just my thoughts!.
Did you see any submarine races while you were there?

the po said it was lowered 2 in the front and 6 in the back. i know he took out some leafs in the back and i would assume he cut a coil in the front because there are no drop beams
