POR-15 -- great stuff. But don't store it in plastic containers!

Seems like theres a lot of don't s to POR-15. Don't put it in a plastic container, don't let direct sunlight hit it, it's very expensive. A lot of people seem to like it though :dontknow:

Don't use it in confined space. Don't breathe the fumes. Don't get it on you. Don't buy it, use Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator instead.

Yes, I mentioned it in another thread. No, I don't work for Eastwood.

Must be topcoated if it sees sunlight - use Magnet Paint instead (darn near 1/2 the price).

Im prepping my rear frame half for por15 next week. Inside floor boards too. This is to put everything in a holding pattern until I can get a frame off done on my 65. My front frame is in the sun every day and I see no problems developing. Maybe if you leave it exposed to the sun for a year or two the uv rays may do their work. I think most of us will be putting a cab and bed back over the frame sometime soon after poring and painting. Again check my pics on a 63 frame that I pored over 20 yrs ago it is just now rusting through again an Im sure advances in por15s durabilty have been made in 20ys. If I get another 20ys before any rust through Ill be in my 80s and to old to give a hoot. It is a little more expensive could be because it is american made I dont know. Anyway just my 2c
