Can someone tell me what years of crown Vic or grand marquis I can use for the frame swap ( will the 90's and up work ) and what would be the best to use
Thanks
William,
Thanks for the great advice, I am new to the site and just can't get off of it , all the knowledge just amazes me.
Can't wait to start my project just trying to finger out the best way to proceed
Thanks again
03 and up had a bolt in aluminum x member. they are an easy way to get ifs, big disc breaks and some lowering.
people have used the whole frame from earlier cars, but requires a bunch more fab work.

Thanks guys,
If i go with the aluminum X member from 03 and newer, what can i use for a rear end that will match
I have read some stories on the site but if you know of one that will help please pass it on
I am also having problems uploading pics of the truck
The T-bird/ Mark VIII IRS is a fairly easy swap with swap plates available if you don't wish to fabricate your own. Either will require a switch to Cobra hubs and rotors if you wish to retain common wheel mounting patterns (the factory offsets are not the same, so aftermarket wheels are often utilized). The Cobra changeover would allow a common spare with the 4.5 inch, 5 lug pattern. The Panther (03 up) chassis utilizes this pattern, but with the "front wheel drive" style offsets; the Mark and Bird are a different pattern. The police package suspension is often recommended and is readily found, but stiffens up the ride a little and may not be preferred for an extremely low stance. The slightly wider track seems to be more noticable on the lowered vehicles.
If you choose to obtain one from a "pull-it-yourself" yard, you may want to invest in a cordless impact and a good selection of large metric sockets.
I wish I could provide pictures but my Panther conversion is now relegated to following two other IFS Slick conversions. I am considering using it in a heavier duty Slick due to the robust components and wider track.
