Thank you guys for helping me with the information I needed. The Chief at the local CarControl really enjoyed cruisin my Slick and had nothing to complain about.

Glad to hear you had no issues with your inspection. My other half who is from England says they do that stuff over there too. Congrats!

Depends on where you live. We have an annual inspection for safety items in our state unless you register the vehicle as a collector car, then you are exempt. Each state varies. Some are more lenient than others.

Yeah, it's a little different for each state. Utah has annual inspections & everything back to 1967 has to pass emissions.

At least some states bump the emission year minimum up every now & then, so cars 40 years old don't have to pass really clean.

Sounds a little bit as in sweden then. Cars like mina have to go there every second year. But they dont check exhaust on them. Just brakes,tires, flasher and so on

Where I live there is no insp. at all on historic vehicles or emissions. Glad you made it through ok.

Man, I thought Utah was a part of the work where a man could sort of do what he wanted....

Kansas doesn't even test the brakes or lights on that old a vehicle. You take a title to the court house, ask for a tag and away you go. But you do have to show proof of insurance... And I think a vehicle from out of state gets an eyeballing, but if it was previously in the state, not many questions asked.....

Best kept secret in Alaska is Historic plates. $14.00 for plates for as long as you own it. 1966 and older no checks of any kind. Only supposed to be driven to shows ect. But keeps you from having a unregistered auto in yard.

you guys should see some of the "rides" we have around here. some barely pass as cars and they make anything I have ever owned look cherry.

Here in KS you have to have it inspected when you first register it from out of state or new. Then you never have to do it again!

We don't have no stink'n inspections in South Carolina. We did from mid 60's 'til the early '90s. There were to many shops ripping off people with headlight aiming and a lot of other BS. Good riddance.

There used to be annual safety inspections in Iowa back in the 70s - 80s. There were so many places where you could buy a passing inspection though, they finally gave up.
