Greg D's Traditional Build of a 1964 F 250
Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
great job Greg, keep it up, its inspiring me to do more...and I have two to do
1965 SWB 460 C6 AUTO "Red Barron Red"
1965 SWB Going 302 w/C4 Auto (Matthew's)
1969 Dodge Charger "replica General Lee" 440 w/727 (Mine)
If you sent your Truck out to a restoration shop, you did NOT build it, jus sayin!
Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
Been a LONG time since I posted here (used to be darn near daily!).
I got all the other fires put out (or at least down to a slow smolder, lol).
Been laying out parts for reassembly (hope I remember where they all go
).
I got the Clutch Master painted & mounted today;

Here are a couple shots of the Relayed Headlight Harness.
I will be taking detailed pictures of this before final installation, will get all the part #s I can from it and the measurements for a thread in the "Hints" forum. Since I have the only Slick Harness the guy completed I'll at least make it so you can make your own.

Going to be "Parts Binging" now that I don't have a Jeep payment so this thread is gonna get busy again.

Not much since the last post, other than looking through boxes for parts I know I have (somewhere).
Did install a new set of Motorcraft spark plugs today though.
Need to find my alternator & starter (might help to find the bracket for the alternator too).

Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
Sort of "reviewed a previous chapter" today;
In a previous post I had cut out the #2 crossmember for clearance for a pair of 79 F 150 long tube headers (the Mustang shorties hit the steering box).
Since that crossmember not only mounts the bellhousing - it also ties the rear spring hangers together it needed replaced somehow.
Matt (BMJs65) cut me 4 of these plates and drilled them, as shown in a previous post 2 were welded to the crossmember stubs.
The other 2 bolt to the welded ones and a 1.250 x .125 wall square section is welded to the other 2.
I now have the stiffness returned to the spring mounts and clearance for the exhaust.
I may add some gussets at the ends of the tube before I paint it;
Stubs from the top with the Crossmember mounted;

Removable section fabbed up;

Checking fit after finish welding;

Next will be the tranny crossmember so I can remove the 2x4 that has been holding it up for over a year.
Be nice to have those C clamps back too.............................

Still need to get some pics of stuff I've done,
yea it's small stuff but it all needs done.
One thing I am doing that I have a pic of is some "thinking";

This would really fit the style I'm doing.
Some lakes would look great with these.................

i think those covers will look fine, just pic a good wheel color cause you will see a bit of rim around the edge. that's were the money is.

my steel wheels are painted black, yours will probably look better since your truck appears lower than mine

Previously done;
Got the battery tray coated with Dip It (Thanks Chris!).
This stuff is going to work real well on this piece I think.

I painted my new #2 cross member today too, didn't get a pic of it in primer.
I'll let it harden for a couple days and install it with stainless hardware.

Now to get that tranny crossmember done and find some parts!
I still want to scallop the truck,
I am thinking the scallop color for the wheels if I run the moons.

Greg your pictures just made me realize I am still missing more parts ! I wonder where my so called "Tophat" is that covers the blower motor?
Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
Isn't it amazing that we can remember where every part goes, how we modded or refinished every piece, where every fastener and what type but we can't remember where we put all the damn parts!foodstick wrote:Greg your pictures just made me realize I am still missing more parts ! Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
Trans crossmember is about 1/2 done - need to drill the bolt holes in it.
Weld the ends & flange for the isolator on.
Paint & install.
Probably won't get to it today - have a 93 Mercury Tracer wagon in the drive I'm fixing for $.

Re: Greg D Seriously Molests a 1964 F 250 - Restomod!
Paint is drying on the tranny crossmember - I will install it tomorrow.
I have mostly stainless hardware especially under the truck. I did however buy 4 - 1/2" steel nuts in case I wanted to weld them to the frame for the trans crossmember - still debating if I do that.
I didn't take a pic - I get one tomorrow after it's in.
It's nice to have my 2 6" C clamps back too!
They have been holding a 2x4 that the T-5 was resting on for 2 years now - LOL.

I notice that you used an adapter for the clutch MC. Did it not bolt to the firewall in the existing holes?
